As per the jacksons, I've talked too Rebbie, the oldest sister @ a couple of conv. She was really nice, but very guarded.
Avishai I had dinner with Rebbie and her husband once, I agree with your perception. Her husband seemed to be a very controling type, I don't think he even made eye contact with me. I just feel sorry for the whole bunch, they have all paid a high price for their fame and crazy JW upbringing.

I just feel sorry for him; he's obviously got major mental problems and an obsession with plastic surgery. As a person of color, raised in the jw cult, and close to his age, I can understand how he was made to feel about being black in a white man's religion.
I attended predominately white congregations and even though they talked up the wonderful diverse brotherhood, there was a lot of racism and bigotry displayed by the rank and file. Also, as with all their efforts to look mainstream and business like, black brothers were encouraged to look as "white" as possible. I was not allowed to wear "ethnic" hairstyles (didn't want anyone to think Angela Davis was knocking at their door). Sounds like a very minor thing, but it screws up your sense of self and makes you feel like there is something inherently wrong with you.

I'm studying advanced anatomy/physiology and it's hard to sit through hours of discussion about the many details of the human body and how everything works and not wonder....did someone/something design this incredible machine? I'm just not ready to go there again....

Plus after my pathetic childhood, never went anywhere or did anything (except field service of course), that's the only thing I had to look forward to....

I'm thinkin along the same lines as Beans...but with men in it like Lenny Kravitz. It's harder for men to pull off a sexy video though. On a local station they were making fun of the lead singer in Creed, spoofin his song..."my shirt's wide open"...too funny.
