Any JWs on here that still believe?
by cognac init would be nice to start a thread with those people to reason things over in the bible.
no name calling, no putting others down, etc.
it would be nice to show this to my husband without him seeing things like, "if you were a real jw, you would not be on here to begin with.

Invites, Parking and the DC - a true laughable story
by wizzstick ini'm in a major uk city, and we're assigned to an out of city location for our district convention.. to set the scene this site is off a busy motorway (freeway).
it's a football (soccer) stadium.
there is nothing around aside from one petrol (gas) station which also has a tiny supermarket in it.

Congratulations on your husband checking some things.
I confess that i sometimes did stuff like that. It would be nice if xjws could always be respectful and refrain from language that dinegrates wt concepts. Most people here are in all stages of being jw to the other end of the spectrum, having left the jws yrs ago. They are like a support group and a therapy group. Therapy, effective therapy can become messy, at times. After people have passed through the various stages of denial, anger and deprogramation, then they can be respectful and considerate. I do vary my language, depending on w whom i am talking, w an effort to be considerate of where they are at.

So, both 'evil' and ultruism helped us humans, as a species, the succeed better to this point. It may be a matter of a balance between 'evil' and ultruism. Further back, in our history, say during the age of empires, perhaps the evil side of us worked better in promoting civilization. Perhaps, as our density increases, as our technology improves and we understand nature better, ultruism will prove to be more beneficial to our race, and the proportion of evil in our society will go down. I guess, that i am an optimist, deep down.

Gerrit Loesch was at our DC today!
by goatshapeddemon inso, unexpectedly, the final talk was announced today and to my surprise and evil glee, they announced gerrit loesch as the speaker!
first off, at the beginning of his talk, he interrupted himself in the middle of his sentence to scold the microphone brother to lower my mike it's right in my face.. anyway, it was the talk on inspired truth, vs. inspired falsehoods.
he went through 6 expressions inspired by the demons.

by jam init,s simple, i can not remember crap from my previous life.. the wife told me today if you come back in the next life, please.
take some science classes.. if i could remember a small percentage of my life today, just a little.
bit, man would it make a difference.. in school i would be 100% nerd, geek, book worm.

This brings up the idea of the akashic records. The idea is that records of everything are stored somewhere. If the universe and the multiverse (if it exists) were basically computers, then i could see how this idea might be plausible.
We have memories of a heck of a lot more than we are able to recall. This has been demonstrated when scientists stimulated some parts of the brain w electrodes. The test subjects found themselves reliving past experiences that they didn't know that they had memories of.
