I must say you are right about one thing. And that is GOD WAS BOODTHIRSTY. Because thats what it took to satisfy his holiness, and thats what was provided on Calvary. BLOOD. But theres power in the BLOOD.

Jehovah or God is blood thirsty
by MrMoe insecond kings, we learn that menahem, leader of the israelites, smote all the people who refused to follow him and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up (2 kings 15:16).
later, in hosea, we learn that because the land of samaria rejected god, samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her god: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up (hosea 13:16).
hosea decided to carry out gods vengeance on the people by killing the unborn babies carried by the heathen women.

Psalms 110:1 "The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until i make thine enemies thy footstool.

To The Field! Umm, Maybe Not..
by Englishman ineven after all these years away from dubbism, i still get a buzz each sunday morning when i awake and think "no field service ever again!".
i appreciate that it's now called something along the lines of "engaging in the ministry" or similar, back then we simply "went on the work".
god, how i loathed it.. so tomorrow, instead of door-bashing and meeting attending, i will do what i want to do.

Amen. I witness probably more now, then i ever did as a dub. Of course i'm not pounding on doors, but i usually bring it up in conversation with customers, friends,ect.... Matt 28:19,20

Baptism: minute detail but missing the spirit
by Simon injust a thought about how the wts handles baptisms .... it's strange isn't it that they pay such minute attention to detail for the actual baptism itself - someone scrutinises the whole event and should anyone's big toe sticks out the water then they get dunked again.. why?.
do they think getting completely covered is some magical spiritual thing?.
do they suppose that god wouldn't accept it if someone unnoticed didn't go under completely?.

Great posts!! I didnt realize they were that picky about the total immersion thing, like toes popping up ect... although that doesnt surprise me comming from a legalistic organisation.
Wonder how they explain the theif on the cro...oops i mean torture stake. Jesus told him he would be in paradise, and he didnt know no doctrine or was baptized. hmmmmmmm

Coolbreeze, you believe in God but not the bible?
And here is one FACT. I cant get over all these posts of people complaining that God hasnt done ANYTHING FOR THEM.......Well......Your alive aint you? Or would you rather be dead? I say Give the one supreme God Yaweh glory for everything including the good and bad. Didnt you know that trials and tribulations work patience?

by Pepper inoh my god, i went to a meeting a year ago, with my girl friend, in a town back east i live in utah, i sing in night clubs and bars and have a really great time.
i go to the hall and it comes time to sing, now i am used to really letting it all hang out when i sing, so i give it all i got, i seen all these's heads turn and look at me, they could tell right off the bat that i am not a good jw cause i have a beard like jesus wears, but i know the tunes because i was raised listioning to them, i loved it, they don't really sing i noticed, its sad, cause singing could be so much a part of worship, but its like you can't even do that cause if your a good singer you might stumble the others cause it may be competion, what a bunch of bs, the po, looked down his nose cause i was singing like i had life in me .

It's kind of funny. When i think of Kingdom melodies. I remember this guy who was a close friend and the Piano player for the Cong. He got disfellowshipped, and of course i went to visit him. I was shocked, when i walked in and saw him smoking while playing the kingdom songs. Singing out of the corner of his mouth with the cigarette in the other. Pretty funny now!!!

Swedish Chef,
I appreciate your response to my post. I agree with you 100% In our eyes, we make the choice to follow Gods Son. In Gods eyes, he calls us, and quickens us. The invitation goes out to ALL. (Many are called, but few are chosen)
The problem i have with freewill churches, is almost all of them deny the doctrine of election and limited atonement. And most revivals and church sermons i've attended, boil down to the preacher exclaiming "God has done all he can do, now its up to you to do the rest" "Poor God, he's trying to save you and you wont let him" I have actually heard those words uttered by freewill preachers. AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!! I remember when i was a JW, (the mormans and many others use this phrase) they would say "We are all free, moral, agents. Haaaa #1 We're not free ---we're in bondage to sin, unless set free by God.#2 We're certainly not moral.---just because we dont act on our evil impulses #3 Who are we agents of? In our natural state, you know who were agents of. But in Christ of course we're his agent.
I think you will agree with me that not ONE PRECIOUS DROP OF THE SON OF GOD WILL BE WASTED. All for whom he died, will be brought home to glory.
I also belive its a heart work, and an ongoing process. Remember that scripture "he who began a good work in you, will complete it..." and also the scripture "Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our Faith" Too many people (some of them i know personally) look back on some experience as their salvation. I've heard comments like "I walked the isle" or "I prayed the sinners prayer" I'm not condemning walking down an ise to profess your faith. But i think its dangerous to base ones salvation on one event like that. Too many people have walked the isle, only never to return, perhaps because they felt their arm was twisted off. And not return just to church, but their bible and to Jesus.
I know the apostle theme wasnt "God has an elect people, and we hope youre among them." or "You dont have to do anything, if you're one of his, you'll make it to glory" This of course would be false. And yet i believe it's equally false to say "God is trying to save you, and you wont let him." "Just walk down front, pray through, and youre saved."
I believe the message was and still is "Repent, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and be baptized you shall be saved." And not only that, but "trust him every day, and draw nigh unto him and he will draw nigh unto you." Of course some will twist the baptism thing, saying thats what saves you, but we know better. Thats another topic for another stormy day.
Your brother in Christ

JW's deny jesus as being king before 1914
by heathen ini ventured to the local hall here last week and when time to discuss the watchtower a guy made a comment that the wt only believes that jesus became king in 1914.now i have read the bible and do have an interest in what it says despite my handle on this site and i have noticed that the apostles made clear that christ was king of heaven and earth in their day at least until the last apostle died .this just looks like typical crap that would only lead me to further arguement with them and in the end being demonized .anyone else with thoughts on the subject ?

heathen,
Maybe i missed something here, but i did not intend to prove the trinity doctrine by quoting those verses. In fact, if i was going to try and prove the trinity, i probably would not use those verses. However, if i was trying to prove the immortality of the soul, i might use that verse, but in this case, i was responding to the question: Where was Christ immediantly after death? Did he just cease to exist like the Society says, or was he existing in a spirit form.
Another point to consider is this: Before Jesus came to earth he existed as a spirit. I think most would at least agree to that. So why would it be so difficult for him to go back to being a spirit, once his body was destroyed? I mean, how else could he have said, "I will raise it up again" unless he was involved in doing just that. I dont know how the JW's treat this scripture, if they do at all. I looked up the ressurection in the Reasoning book, but found nothing. Only arguments on Jesus being a spirit AFTER his ressurection. And like i mentioned before, when did he go and preach to the spirits in prison?

Are you saying i need to join a church based on your interpretation of the bible?
Did i miss something here? When did Swedish Chef say anything about you or anyone else needing to join a church? Thats what FALSE RELIGION PROMOTES. Just join up, and do your best and everything will be ok. Most of us have been there and done that. What he did say was that it appeared you havent gone to Christ, judging by your response.
IN fact, Jesus said himself, "I am the way, the truth, the life" not an organization, world church or what have you. You also said he (swedish chef) was telling you what you do believe and dont believe. If he did, and he was wrong, post what you do believe like most everyone else here, and we'll no doubt debate it.

Thats not the only place where Jesus says he would raise his own body up. Check these out as well. Matt.26:61,Mark 14:58, and the best one is John 10:18.
Later...
