  i’ll go first.. in a previous congregation we had a pioneer couple that have since gone on to be gilead graduates and are now either in circuit work or translation.

  they checked all the boxes off the societies list so they were exemplary.

  The small people are screwed as you “can’t take your brother to court”. I was told even if they didn’t pay you Jehovah is still pleased as indirectly you are supporting kingdom interests.

  Some years ago I contracted with JW contractor to build my house. Contracts drawn up and signed, home loan applied for, all was good. . .until the guy started work two weeks late, took multiple days away from the job to 'go in service', forgot to order cabinets, and when the date arrived that I was to close in order to obtain a time sensitive low interest loan from the bank, the house was still not done. Of course the bank did not close on the loan, so I was out an additional $5,000.00 up front, and the higher interest over the course of the mortgage would have been even more thousands of dollars.

  I contacted my lawyer who after reviewing the contract, photos of the property, and the state of uncompleted work said, "You will own that house free and clear when we are done!" The elders got wind of it when the contractor was served papers and called me in the back room and spouted the, "Does any one of you who has a dispute with another dare to go to court before unrighteous men, and not before the holy ones? Really, it is already a defeat for you when you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather let yourselves be wronged? Why do you not rather let yourselves be defrauded?"

  Then they informed me that IF the lawsuit was not withdrawn I would be disfellowshipped. I withdrew it, and that was one of the biggest mistakes I ever did. I have regretted ever listening to those opinionated, blow-hard, ignorant POS windbags ever since!

  I believe I can fix what they said to more accurately reflect the reality.

  This is claimed to be his decision before Jehovah when is really the elders who will make the final judgement against him. Appointed elders and others while claiming to fully respect the conscience of the brother and that they continue to regard him as a Christian in good standing will in reality judge him as bad association, engage in malicious gossip about him and soft shun him and his family leading the rest of the sheeple congregation to do the same. The elders will judge him as unworthy of ever getting any so-called privileges other than toilet bowl duty. And he will forever after be a pariah in the congregation.   I would guess that is why the mandated understanding of "superior authorities" in Romans 13 under Russell was that the "superior authorities" were governments, then Rutherfraud's mandated understanding was they were Jehovah and Jesus, and then under Snorr they were once again mandated to be governments. Nothing wishy-washy about that! And goodness,what a confidence booster in the governing body that was!

  I noticed this: If on occasion your work assignment requires you to miss congregation meetings, it would be good to advise the elders accordingly.

  Once again WT speaks out of both sides of their mouth. It's okay to advise the elders that you may miss meetings because of your unpaid slave labor for WT, but you will be soundly condamned if you dare miss an occasional meeting because you are getting paid for the work you do!

  But at least the two elders that meet with the new indentured servant will be "spontaneous" in the way they welcome that poor soul who is there to slave for nothing!.

  i saw a statistic the other day that something like 25% of all the debt that the us has incurred since 1776 was created in the last 12 months.

  that's because they have printed so much currency and instead of letting that stop them, they are going to continue printing more to go on a spending spree on crazy green-new-deal schemes and union handouts.. does anyone think that this can be anything other than inflationary?

  they are effectively stealing the wealth of everyone to then hand money out to people.

  the bank pays me 2% on the accounts

  I sure wish my bank paid that. On the "preferred" account I have with a modest six figure balance they pay a whopping effective rate of 0.1%. Every quarter I get between $1.00 to $1.20 interest. That is one of the higher rates locally.

  One of the things I do is to use credit nearly exclusively every month, then pay the account off in full with every statement. I can receive more in cash back from the credit card than I would ever make from using cash for initial purchase.

  I would say "NO". We need to remember there is a big difference between what may be termed successful or happy. Success does not automatically translate into happy. There are quite a number of people who by all reckoning are successful, but they will say they are not truly happy. BTDT.
