by Slidin Fast inuk chanel 4 " the cruel cut".
in the uk in black and asian communities female genital mutilation(fgm) or destruction of the clitoris and the labia of young girls is practised.
this horror is common in the uk, it is illegal and has been for 28 years but there has not been one prosecution.. this got me thinking.

Fernando:
I've been wondering if the apostate Watchtower's ban on oral sex could be seen as a type of FGM since the outcome is the same for the many woman not capable of climaxing without oral sex.
No, I wouldn't consider the Watchtower's aversion to oral sex to be a type of FGM, but more an overt display of misogyny and complete ignorance of what normal sexuality includes. Remember, the old farts on the GB probably have NO clue what they're missing out on, so they have to make things like oral sex "dirty", "perverted" and "unnatural". They don't want anyone else to be having better or more sex than what they're getting.

The first time I observed a newborn boy being circumcised, I almost fainted. Since then, I've probably assisted with over 100 of these procedures. I'm not fond of the procedure, even with local anaesthetic and oral pain control medications, as well as a sterile environment and instruments, every single baby is traumatized by the experience in one way or another.
When parents ask me about circumcision for their son, I talk about what we are learning about the function of the foreskin. It serves a similar purpose for the glans penis as the eyelids serve for the eyeball. Without eyelids (or eyelids that are paralyzed by a stroke) the cornea becomes dry and scarred (keratinized), and results in damage to the eye. The foreskin keeps the glans from becoming keratinized, thus allowing it to retain its sensitivity during sexual experiences. That's not to say that circumcision ruins *all* the fun or even diminishes it noticably - I wouldn't know that because I don't have the equipment - but I suspect that circumcised men enjoy sex just as much as their intact counterparts.
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM, aka female "circumcision") as practiced in Africa is a far cry from the mere removal of foreskin. There are several "levels" of FGM that are practiced, depending on local custom. The most extreme involves removal of labia majora, labia minora and clitoris and then suturing the vagina closed, leaving a small opening for the passage of urine and menstrual blood. This is done when a girl is about 8 years of age, and often she is tricked by her relatives to go visit an "auntie" for a special party in her honour. The girl is held down on a bench or a table and the "auntie" has helpers to hold the girl's legs open so she can start cutting. There are no provisions for cleanliness, and sometimes the girl is cut with the same kitchen knife that was used to butcher the chicken that was cooked for dinner, or with a broken piece of glass. The girl is not given anything for the pain. When the 'procedure' is completed, her legs are bound together and she must lay still for several days lest the wounds open up and she bleeds profusely. She may develop an infection due to the unsanitary nature of the makeshift operating table and the utensils used to cut her.
I've looked after some of these women after they have delivered a baby, and it's absolutely horrible to see the mess that's been made of their genitalia.
You just can't compare this devastation to male circumcision.
That being said, I see absolutely no reason for the practice of circumcising infant males to continue. If an adult male wishes to make that modification to his body, that should be *his* right, it should not be for the parents to impose their cosmetic or religious peculiarities on their child.

Why don't you all, as a group, decide on a charity to support and then make anonymous cards to put in a gift box which you all open together on Christmas day, and tally up the amount your group donated to this worthy cause and celebrate your accomplishment together over your dinnner?
You could play a game called "Dirty Santa" for Christmas gifts. Everyone buys a token or gag gift for about $10-$15, wraps it up and brings it to the gift exchange party. Gifts get placed under the tree and depending on the number of guests (say there's 20), you'd have slips of paper in a hat, numbered 1 to 20. The person who draws first picks a gift and unwraps it. The next person in line has the option to choose a gift or steal from one of the gifts that's been revealed, etc. until all the gifts are open. Whoever has their gifts "stolen" gets to pick again either from the unwrapped gifts or the wrapped pile, but they aren't allowed to steal their original gift back.

- Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.
While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it. ~ Insight on the Scriptures, Volume 2, page 244, 245 “LIE”

Revealing his name or reasons for him being DFd would be a breach of his privacy, and a violation of the posting guidelines to that effect.
Please DON'T do it, either here where google trawlers can find it or in PM where other people can end up gossiping about it. DFd people get enough of that bull$h!t at the Kingdom Hall. Let's try to be better than that, shall we?

Trying to overcome my homophobia.
by Julia Orwell ini had a music album by a gay guy before i was a jw and had no problem listening to it.
it's good music.
some of the lyrics are what you might call 'gay', that is there's some talk about boyfriends, gay bars, and queens and the intolerance the artist encountered as a gay man.

Mr Scully and I were talking about this sort of thing the other day. I was complaining that they didn't seem to have a problem showing lesbian relationships on shows like Grey's Anatomy, but I was wondering out loud why they weren't featuring male main characters in gay relationships. I said if they really wanted to make the point that they supported LGBT rights they had to do this.
It's one thing to make dramedy (drama/comedy) shows featuring gay relationships in the lead roles (like Desperate Housewives did), but it needs to happen on a serious show, with main characters, and needs to explore issues that pertain to these families - like adoption, surrogate parenting, marriage, divorce, etc.

It's deplorable to be made to wait for an appointment.
I recently went to a specialist - my appointment was made in June and I was to be seen at 3:20 pm on a Friday in September; I wasn't seen until almost 6 pm. By the time I was finished with the doctor, the support staff had already left for the day. The doc was supposed to schedule me for a chest x-ray and abdominal ultrasound, and she told me the radiology department would contact me on Monday with my appointment times for the x-ray and ultrasound.
By the following Thursday, I hadn't been contacted with appointment times, so I called the hospital myself and tried to figure out when I was supposed to show up. Turned out there were no requisitions posted in the computer by the doctor. So I had to call the office and leave a message with her nurse and let her know the situation. It took her almost 2 weeks to get back to me, and assure me that the tests had now been ordered and I should be hearing from them within the week to book the appointments. That was 3 weeks ago. So I have to get back on the phone tomorrow and find out what happened with the requisitions again, and see if I can find out when I'm supposed to go for these tests.
Do you want to know what absolutely kills me about this? This institution is where I work. This kind of bungling is a professional embarrassment. Nobody should have to wait three hours to be seen by a physician when they've waited months for their appointment already. You do all the right things - you confirm your appointment, clear your calendar so you can actually go to the appointment, and then they can't even see you at the time you're scheduled. If I showed up 3 hours late to an appointment, they would charge me $75 for being late... because THEIR time is valuable. But can I charge them $75 for the 3 hours I waited or for the 3 hours' worth of parking I had to pay? (yup! I have to pay to park at my place of employment!) or for the wild goose chase I've been on trying to get my follow up done before my next appointment in February? Not on your frikkin' life.
I think I may need to write to the CEO to voice my frustrations. Not that it will do any good; hell, maybe I'll end up having to look for a new job.
As far as your situtation - there's no excuse for being made to wait 90 minutes for a 10:30 am appointment, whether they are "squeezing you in" or not. That's just nuts. Hopefully the next experience will go more smoothly - and I hope you have a receipt for the payment you made today that you're applying to the next appointment.

Next week, on "Pimp My Ride": We take a humble white van and put a freakin' halo on it - now it sells Bibles and $h!t, for free!!
White vans around here are suspicious. They're usually linked to attempted child abductions and sexual assaults.
