  If You Were Never A JW What Type of Life Would You Think You'd Have Now?

  A very interesting question that I have pondered many times. Who can say. If I'd had the support and unconditional love of my parents, I would have had more self-esteem, and no doubt would have gone to college, and perhaps become a teacher or a doctor. I had an interest in both fields.

  The JW's came and my mom's rigid style, split my parents apart even more than they were--though they stayed married until dad died. Mom had a great influence on my life after she chose the JW belief system, and we trailed beside and behind her. No further education would be necessary. No one else in the family took an interest in us. We were just led by the rings in our noses.

  Green Devil

  years ago, when the cover of the new world translation was green coloured, mormon missionaries referred to it as the "green devil".

  anyone knows of similar or other expressions?

  I remember using a green NWT back when going door to door. Folkls first impression was that we weren't using the bible. Some said the bible must be black. When I was very young, I remember seeing white bibles that my grandparents had. Black was usually the rule. JW's love to be different.

  three years ago, i decided that i would no longer support the jw religion.

  having family in the "truth" as many of you know, can complicate the leaving process as the jws use the threat of df/da and loss of family as a weopon to try to control you.

  i decided to fight fire with fire.

  Not one JDub has called at our home since the visit from the lady JDub with whom I engaged in a quite interesting topic a couple years ago. The idea that I am very content and happy, and I haven't been in the borg for nearly twenty years threw her in a spin.

  She just couldn't understand "how" I could be happy, and said she'd like to come back and discuss it further, because she was having some "problems" herself.

  She never came back. I think she spoke to someone (probably her husband) and was told that I was just too friendly and too nice to be having conversations with active JW's, still held at bay by guilt and fear. An XJW, who didn't buy into the guilt and fear any longer--and a woman at that. Apparently I really had an affect upon her, and they don't want anyone else "damaged".

  yes if you was not like a "bull in a china shop" you would have stopped and looked at the situation to ensure your daughter were not left behind in the w/t.. but what did you do?

  Well guess what else! You can't make another person do what you want them to do, even if you know it is the right thing. You can't control other people, not even your own family. They have to make their own choice.

  I'm quite spiritual though I follow no formal religious structure. I find the basic ideals of Theosophy very good.

  The gods that religion teaches us about are misrepresented. No wonder mankind is in a state of spiritual confusion. I do not call myself a christian, yet I do follow the foremost teaching of Jesus and other enlightened men who have lived among us: show love and compassion.

  Look inside your heart and make a pleading for direction and guidance. Follow your instincts, learn to love yourself, and your life will be enriched beyond measure. Your troubles won't magically disappear, but the way in which you perceive them most definitely will.

  God or Goddess, does the supreme have a gender?

  some people say the supreme being is male, some say it is female.. some call it goddess, some call it god.. of course this all pre-supposes one exists in the first place, but that aside, what do you think?

  does god have a gender, what is that gender and what do you call it god or goddess?.

  for me, i don't think god has a gender, if one exists.

  The Cross

  does anyone out there now wear a cross or would you still feel guilty wearing one?

  The reason I don't wear a cross is not because of any residual fears or guilt. It is simply because I think it odd to wear something around my neck that symbolizes the "torture and death" of a meek and humble person. I wouldn't wear a gun around my neck to honor my husband's suicide, nor a wrecked car to honor an accidental death. That's just me.

  Christianity has adopted the cross as a symbol of their "faith", and they have a right to do so. I would not wear it because it puts me in company with religion and that's not where I'm at in my belief system.

  SHAME ON YOU!

  it's a fact that many jehovah's witnesses know the truth about what's going on in the organisation and about its past history, with all its lies, its broken promises and its lying in bed with the united nations.

  these jehovah's witnesses consider themselves good christians knowing these facts and yet they still go along with it and help promulgate lie after lie after lie after lie.

  thousands upon thousands of sincere hearts have been broken and are still set to be broken because of their holding on to false hopes.. it's a fact that this forum is visited by jehovah's witnesses still loyal to watchtower and in spite of the countless truths exposing watchtower here these same jehovah's witnesses remain loyal to it.

  Well, you know what they say about people who are "happy in their own pile of s##t"...? They obviously like it there, because no matter what they "say", they do little or nothing to change where they are. It is their private comfort zone.

  We just have to let them go.....

  Family of nine dead in Fresno...7th Day Adventist...

  on fox news the son of the man accused of killing his family in fresno was just on camera stating his family was devout 7th day adventists and that "there was never any abuse".

  isn't that church a close follower of jw church and policies?

  the report states too, that it appears to be a ritual killing.

  I saw the news report on this. Apparently the mother of the children, outside, just broken and sobbing and being held up by investigators.

  There are lots of sick minds in this world and they deserve to be held accountable. Death penalties= less jails, less tax for maintenance and appeals, less chance of escape.
