Age Appropriate Friends

we have a 25 year guy in our hall who is also a pioneer (which means he lives off his parents money), who likes to spend a lot of time with a 16 year old girl in the hall.

it is usually in a group setting but he seems to gravitate toward her.

he even has her auxilary pioneering , which is something i don't think any student trying to make the grades needs.

This guy is going to be an elder before he is 30 and the whole situation seems really creepy.

I wonder if I would be a dick, if I said something to the elders. I also don't get along with the elders very well.

A bunch of Ubers and Pioneers in my hall are planning a social gathering on the Dec 25, with the excuse they all the same day off work.

My son has to sit in the corner at school like some social lepers, while these assholes get to do whatever they want. It pisses me off.

I remember the whole " Remain Loyal convention " about 6-7 years ago, was shortly after the new understanding of the faithful slave.

A general rule of thumb when dealing the WTS is whenever you see the term Loyal , it is usually a dogmatic flip flop just happened or someone is getting arrested.

I used to follow the evangelical view that theology was what made a cult. If you didn’t believe in the basic tenants of the Christian faith like Trinity or hell are you were in a cult.

later in life, I got to know some Mormons and it was kind of a high opener. Even though I think Mormonism is kind of silly, they are really, really nice people. There’s really no sanction for leaving or calling the book of Mormon a piece of fiction.

Would you believe has really nothing to do with being in a cult? It’s just how you act as a person. Cults destroyed lives and families. They waste your time and destroy your potential. They emotionally blackmail you when you try to leave.

My first Christmas outside of the borg, I drank goat blood, worshipped a statue of Moloch , did Heroin and covered myself with human feces while playing Venom and King Diamond at full blast waking up the entire the neighborhood.

Oh wait.

That is what they told I would be doing.

I think I just watched a Christmas Carol and Die Hard and drank some Baileys and Cream.

Convention attendance

just heard from a pimi cousin who recently attended a convention, and remarked about the low attendance.

peak was about 500. i remember that circuit, in years past, had attendances of 1000+.

it's been over a decade now since i last attended a jw convention.

At the assembly this summer, there were people who were travelling 700 kms to attend. I am not too sure if it by choice. Some of the ubers do the whole summer tour, like they are following the Grateful dead . My province didn't even have a summer assembly this year.

Watch Tower PA sues Russia in DC district over confiscation of Bethel

the watch tower society of pennsylvania filed a lawsuit on september 3, 2024, naming as defendants the russian federation, the russian ministry of health, and the almazov national medical research center.

unfortunately, i can't access the case documents, including the complaint.

i would appreciate if someone with an active pacer account could make them available.. anyway, it is enough to know the almazov center is one of the entities sued by the wts to say what this case is about.

I use to work in the account receivable in the construction industry and the first thing I learned from the company lawyer is if you couldn’t collect that bill, don’t waste your time. The legal process takes so much time and money and most importantly emotion that it isn’t worth it.

The idea of suing the Russian government is nothing but a dog and pony show and a terrible waste of your donations. If you wanna do something useful, why don’t you try and help some Russian or Ukrainian refugees out? I have no respect for nonsense like this.

Sacred Days

yesterday was remembrance day/veterans days in canada.

we had a couple younger half wits in the cong in field service yesterday.

both are trying to climb the ladder with the entire elder body ready to die in the next 10 years.. i just of thought it was a dick move to go door to door about the merits of fighting for freedom or not fighting on such a sacred day.

I do understand they don’t help anybody but their own and they’re real dicks about it but the whole Ukraine war surely there must be all kinds of Jehovah witness refugees that need their help. The way they don’t address this issue. It’s so absolutely bizarre.
Has anybody heard anything? I’m not really up on what’s what’s really going on in the hall.
