I pick 11...What? Me worry?
That or 12 (other)...Ignorance is bliss.
today ozzie's weekend poll returns after a short break.
we promised that it would come back brighter than ever, so here it is!
well, it's a start, isn't it?
I pick 11...What? Me worry?
That or 12 (other)...Ignorance is bliss.
are jw's satans children?.
i was just wondering how ex-jw born agains and members of other religions view jw's and their time as one.do they believe , like jw's do of other religions, that satan is behind the movment?.
do you feel that in your time as a witness you were under satans control?.
Hmmmm...since the WTS claims that they are the locusts of Revelation 9 and it says this about the locusts:
Revelation 9
Abaddon = "destruction"
1) ruin
2) destruction
3) the place of destruction
4) the name of the angel-prince of the infernal regions, the minister of death and the author of havoc on the earth
Apollyon = "Destroyer"
1) the angel of the bottomless pit, the Destroyer
....I'll have to go with "yes".

(in murmured three part harmony) "...may neil die peacefully lord, i promise i won't blow a second chance, amen.".
i know, i know, it's not good form to photograph during a prayer, but this is a once in a lifetime shot!
Geez guys, I'm just a regular lurker and I get it. Six has the hots for Andi (billygoat) and this pic is from her wedding...thus the strange 'prayer'.
Do I get the booby prize?
could someone please have a look and perhaps post a picture from the nov 8th awake.
i have been told that the picture was taken during a convention and a young person is giving the 'finger' at the time the photo was snapped.
i do not have access to the mag but it would be interesting to see if something like that was allowed to slip through.
Good grief! With all the $$ the WT has, couldn't they at least afford to rent some CHAIRS for these people?
I was thinking the same thing. I thought all the KH donations were supposed to be used to help JW's in economically depressed areas.

LOL I got 44 too, but I used 0 for answering c on question 1. Does that answer have any point value?
Damn, I should've read the whole thread, eh?
You have three boxes. One box contains two white socks. Another, two black socks. A third, one white and one black sock. Each box is labeled with one of those combinations, but all boxes are labeled incorrectly. You cannot see the socks in the boxes, and you may reach into one or more boxes to look at either or both of the socks in a box. What is the least number of SOCKS you much see to be able to label the boxes correctly? Explain your answer.
You pick a box and both sock are black, but it's labeled white. Since we know that all of the labels are messed up, that means these two boxes can't simply switch colors. The box labeled black would then have to take the colors of the box labeled b & W and the white lable would go on that box.
Speaking of logic, is this syllogism logical? If not, why not?
All Banks are Financial Institutions. (true)
Bank of America is a Financial Institution (true)
Therefore, Bank of America is a Bank (true)
Even though you can probably assume that Bank of America is a bank because of it's name, the syllogism doesn't prove that. Therefore, it isn't "therefore". The third statement is false.
i have seen (edited to add the word "posted" here, for clarification purposes) on this board that bill bowen is still a jw at heart, and i have seen posts and transcipts of his where he refers to the "christian" way of handling matters.
i have it on good authority that bill is not concerned with the bible, and that he is as far from being a jw as could be (religiously speaking).
bill has refused to answer my inquiries as well as others' when asked about his position on religious/jw matters that have a bearing on his silentlambs credibility based upon direct statements made by him.
Why would anyone forgive? There has been no apology.
I don't know if I can agree with that. Bill apologized for any misunderstanding. I take this to mean that he's not entirely convinced that he did misunderstand Ray's stand on the issue, but has accepted that Ray doesn't feel that way now. He's seems willing to admit that he may have misunderstood Ray to begin with.
I don't know about any of you, but I've found myself in similar situations in the past. I've had people say things to me in a way that could be construed negatively, only to have them tell me that they didn't mean what I thought they meant. Putting the fact that I didn't totally agree the misunderstanding was on my part aside, I usually try to accept a resolution and take responsibility.
If Bill didn't apologize for what he said, it just might be that he's not convinced that the conversation didn't go the way he remembers it. From what he wrote, it sounds like both men think that their own memories of the conversation are correct. It still says alot that he's willing to admit that he may have misunderstood even though he's doubtful that he did.
In either case, I think this is a good example as to why people shouldn't put others on a pedestal. No one can live up to those sort of expectations.

i received the following in an email today and wanted to see if anyone else heard of this information and if they believe it's valid.
>the us supported bin laden and the taliban for years,.
Ohhh but bush got a 125K from unical. So what??? He's a millionare, whats 125K??
151, Bush owes alot of people alot of things. I know that it's hard to break old habits, but sometimes I get very frustrated at people who think what is right in front of them isn't really there if they close their eyes. Reminds me of what the JW's do.
FYI, I initially liked Bush until I did research on both him and Gore before the 2000 "selection". What I found out about him was not good, and he is proving to be everything that I figured he would turn out to be. I don't trust people who would rather nullify the votes of every person in the country by soliciting the interference of the US Supreme Court into an election dispute.
If he actually won the election, then he should have had no problem letting the votes get counted as per the Florida State Court. Instead, he preferred to get into office under a shadow during a very evenly divided election (at least half the voters didn't want him). Personally, I don't think that Florida's electors should have been able to vote because the voting laws in place in Florida were deemed unconstitutional since they didn't have consistent standards across the board. Why should the election of the President of the US be determined by the electors of a State with illegal (unconstitutional) election procedures in place? No one wanted to touch that issue though, because the same is true for many States at this point in time.
As far as I'm concerned, I don't trust Bush and his cronies one bit, they are way too similar to fascists for my tastes, and he is not the elected President of this country. He shouldn't be pushing his agenda so hard, it will be his downfall. I hope it isn't ours.
