  Lot's of talk on the July Watchtower?

  so i've heard lots of talk from within about the 'new light' in this watchtower...i'm yet to look at it in any detail.

  i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?

  " or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!

  There were a few frustrated elders in a car group I was in the other day, outwardly annoyed that the Sheep get to read the upcoming articles at the same time they do! "We should have access first, especially with big changes, so we can answer the friend's questions!" My elders are not getting used to the idea that earth shattering new light is just spewed on the on Internet for any R&F to read. It's insulting that they don't get it in a letter first!

  They are the same elders that were annoyed that the annual meeting contained new light that the body couldn't explain. They had to keep saying, "wait for it come out in print." And now that it has, everyone gets to see it at the same time. Those retired old ladies with their IPads checking the JW.org site twice a day for new stuff just pisses off the elder body!

  Bibles out of stock at Bethel?

  our congregation is rationing regular bibles like they're gold bars.

  i was told that bethel is out of stock!

  anyone else hear about this?

  Just a little update to this, our KH just recently recieved a few foreign language bibles that were ordered. Of course anything English was still on backorder. This completely goes against the thought that some of the elders have in my KH that the Slave found an error, and stopped the presses because they are so faithful and full of integrity they're not going to insult Jehovah by printing something not 100% correct (to the current understanding).

  The fact that they're letting Korean and Simplified Chinese bibles get shipped out means they're gonna use those up no problem. It also means, I think, that they're not sitting on closet full's of English bibles, holding back because they want it to be just right!

  Are The Governing Body Being Set Up To Take A Fall?

  the governing body's decision to declare themselves the faithful and discreet slave appears pretty arrogant and presumptuous.

  since most of us regard the governing body as arrogant and presumptuous, it's easy to conclude that is the reason that they did this.. what if something else is going on?.

  remember when steven unthank was able to get the faithful and discreet slave charged in australia for failing to comply with the working with children act?

  We should look at the results of this announcment from the Annual Meeting thus far. So far, the only JW's that really know about it are elders and super-uber-JW's. For them, this stuff is straight from God himself! They are pumped and energized. They are waiting for a Watchtower article to come out and explain it some more.

  In addition, now they truly will obey anything that comes to them from the Branch like it's God's Word! Basically, they thought the Watchtower Society was God's mouthpiece before, but now it's ridiculous. This is going to continue to strengthen the base.

  As much as I am mentally "out," I have no problem going out in field service and acting the part when neccessary, but the one thing I worry about is dogs! I can talk to anyone about anything with no fear of man, probably because I don't believe what I am saying anyway (hypocrite, I know). But I've had too many close calls with dogs. In our area there are a lot of "invisible fences" around yards where the dogs cannot breach the perimeter. But I see other publishers going around cars that are parked incorrectly onto private property areas where the dogs have a right to roam and bite. Sometimes they're just taking a shortcut, rather than walking the pavers or sidewalk up to the door. We need a KM article to remind them to follow the paths! When I work with these publishers, I take the long way and tell them why.

  By the way, I do not mean to take anything away from the tragedy of those women.

  What do you have to do to qualify for reinstatement? Just curious.

  It's called A Guide to Reinstatement for Those Disfellowshipped from the Watchtower Organization. It is an amazing book detailing the excruciating process told from the standpoint of the father of a young man disfellowshipped who committed suicide before he got back in!

  It's a book worth reading even if you're not trying to get back in, just to see the craziness of what's involved.

  we invited our very close witness friend to a picnic/coffee in the park and she said she would sms us and let us know...she didnt bother which is like a big f.u to me.

  we are inactive but not sinners.

  imagine all the fornicators she will be huging at the memorial.."sooo nice to see you!!!

  There is a part on this week's Service Meeting about welcoming new ones to the Memorial. The part asks JW's to "exchange contact information!" You can't let your kid play basketball with the neighbor kid that's not a witness, but it's okay for you to "exchange contact information" with someone you've never met!

  So, witness 007, if you want some love and attention from JW's, just show up at the Memorial, look a little "lost" and you'll have a team of JW's ready to encourage you! Unfortunately, once they know you're inactive, they'll drop you. Unless, of course, you're not baptized and you tell them you want to study again - you're of no use to another witness if you're already baptized since they cannot count the time!

  To the rank and file witnesses, the most valuable person that comes to the Memorial is one who just happened to come, for the first time, because they recieved and invitation. What the hell kind of person just randomly comes because someone handed them an invitation? One without an Internet connection in their home to Google "Jehovah's Witnesses!"

  Thanks for the great laughs everyone!

  So I guess it really is the same kind of "obedience" as the rank and file need to show! The rank and file have to kiss up to impotent male elders, and those elders then have to kiss up to the Circuit Overseer and District Overseer to move up further. What a terrible, terrible cycle! Eventually, all the way up to the Governing Body aka The Master ... I mean Slave.

  Is there a way that some of them show a more "company man" kind of appearance? Is it just a matter of having that perfect family - wife in submission, kids quiet all the time, whole family pioneering, no kids seeking higher education, etc.? Husband on all kinds of committees - HLC, RBC, etc.? Or is there some other sign of obedience?

  chatter on the street is that there exists a very high possiblility of the new newworld translation being distributed.

  it comes from a reliable sources, but who knows.

  I hope we go back to green! Wasn't it fun to stand out as truly different with your green bible at the door?

  Seriously though, we need a new study book release. The last two were Bearning Thorough Witness and God's Word Through Jeremiah. Done and almost done! I can't go back to the Revelation book a fourth time!

  Assembly Talks... Are these assigned based on the thickness of the envelope?

  from talking to several fading jws over the years, it really does appear that assembly talk assignments are usually given to those pos who consistently hand over the thickest envelopes to the co at the end of his week-long visits.

  if the envelope was too thin (or there was no enevelope at all), chances are that no one in that congo would get an assemby talk assighnment.

  also, if the co and his wife were treated well or taken to expensive restaurants during their visit, that apparently increased the po's chances of getting an assembly talk assignment.
