Ah, Logical, you're so smugly self-righteous! Like you don't trash the odd thread with an "Everybody hates me and wants to see my carcass being eaten by carrion fowl!" post!

Fred, where have you been hiding for nearly a week? We missed the sound of you coughing up the furballs that you try to pass off as posts!
It seems the UN thing has you all aflutter. Why don't you give up the pretence and join the good side of the force? The Watchtower will continue to embarass you while you continue to have faith in it!

Scrapheap Challenge/Junkyard Wars
by Stephanus inanyone seen either or both of these shows (uk and us versions respectively)?
two teams have 10 hours to build a working machine (hovercraft, dune buggy, rocket, etc) from bits and pieces found in a junkyard.. why do i get the feeling that the wbts is the result of a similar challenge on a religious level?
a team had 10 decades to build a religion from bits and pieces of scrap left over from other religions, or at least that's what it looks like!.

LOL, yes, Outlaw! That is one of the classic episodes. I like the fight scene the best!
Robert Llewellyn, who plays Kryten, is the male presenter of Scrapheap Challenge (the woman is the same one as on Junkyard Wars).

Junkyard Wars, like Whose Line is it Anyway?, is an American adaptation of a successful Pommie show, Outlaw. Having said that, I've only seen the American version on Discovery Channel, although the "World Series" version had a fusion of both. I must admit, I like the loudmouth Yank approach. Although Kryten is my favourite Red Dwarf character, I found Robert Llewellyn a little bit quiet and reserved on the above episode.
I noticed on the Scrapheap Challenge page that they're having a competition that different ages can enter, the prize being a trip to the UK to watch an episode being filmed. My boys love Junkyard Wars, so I'll get them to enter it.
Thirdson,
Great adaptation! I'd love to see the graphic where the Pommie woman is the voice over, explaining the various pros and cons of the different methods adopted by each team, especially the bit where Rutherford decides to shed Russell's beard!
Both shows are announcing a 2002 series on their websites, so it should be a very good year - unless YK has a prediction about it...

Positive Name For ExJWs...?
by ISP ini don't like the word apostate.......because it simply is not the case in so many cases.
i think the term 'truthseeker' would be better and quite annoying to jws who think they are!.
come on you truthseekers!.

If they're worried about Hungarian Paprika, how must they feel about yellow asafoetida powder, that spice used because Hare Krishnas aren't allowed to offer garlic or onions to Krishna????
But seriously, did anyone bother to think about rational explanations? The waking up in the middle of the night experience sounds suspiciously like night terrors and who's to say that wasn't triggered by an allergic reaction to the spices?

Yes, Fred Hall's a fraud, but he's part of the atmosphere of the place, kinda like when we used to live between a cokeworks and a sewage plant - you get used to the filthy stench, and sometimes even miss it!

Good News - Alternative Energies
by Amazing ingood news alternative energy .
while on the subject, we could already start to reduce and eventually eliminate oil, at least to the point where we would only need to use our own resources and may buy oil from mexico and russia.. solar: while seemingly forgotten, this is still a growing industry.
solar assist panels for homes are still selling.

I trust this shed some light on this subject. As far as I am concerned, nuclear power is a valuable, useful, and environmentally-friendly method for the generation of baseload electricity and it ought to make up more of the world's generation mix.
Any questions? LOL
