What worries the Governing Body the most?

if you were a governing body member (or one of the power brokers at bethel) what would worry you the most?

i was thinking about this last night.

do you worry about the lawsuits connected with the pedophile cover-up?

Along with what ThiChi said, they have both bases covered nicely for whatever occurs.

"I believe the GB is becoming a non-entity. I think since the GB were removed from any REAL position of authority (spiritual guidance? what the hell is that when you are "only mostly dead" and mostly just drool these days?) when they "restructured" a couple of years ago, that they are just a puppet up there."

LovesDubs, (HI LOVES!!!!!!! ) again---"another" base covered, so that in the event they DO all die off before their expected Armageddon arrives......they can still say they are being governed from heaven discreetly and faithfully, if anyone's still around to listen.!

Sheila Bowen's Letter To the GB!

i knocked on the locked door of the appeal hearing last night after they had dismissed bill and told the six elders that i had something to say to them and told them it was summed up it a letter i had written.i then asked them if i could read it to them and they could have their own copy when i was finished.they said that would be fine.. here it is.

What a GREAT letter! As was mentioned before, with ALL the gut-wrenching and emotionally draining thoughts and feelings you touched upon, it seems incredible that your last sentence is all they could focus on. It once again shows their UNloving "concern", NOT for a sheep who has been skinned and thrown about, but for how YOU view your "place" in their pitiful organization!!!

You and Bill are quite an admirable team, and your ongoing love and heartfelt concern for all your "lambs" speaks volumes about you.

Thank you so much for your TRUE dedication in "doing for others" as Jesus spoke about.

as a few may recall watchtower policy has changed when circumstances serves the interest of the governing body in getting rid of someone they want to railroad.

an example that has been offered involves peter gregerson.

peter was a personal friend to ray franz, in 1980 peter wrote a letter to the society, saying he wanted no further association with the organization.

SO many feelings running through me right now after reading this. Everything I was going to say was already covered (and then some), but I am so appalled at the "sleazy" inference and the blatant unloving and nasty attitude they have shown.

You have most certainly turned over a huge [theocratic] rock, and now ALL of us that are watching intently, are seeing the disgusting little maggots even MORE clearly for what they TRULY are! They make me SO sick!!!!!

There's a lot to be said in relation to this whole issue when one thinks back on that scripture we heard used so often.....concerning the final outcome of cowards!

I didn't know they still MADE that!!!!!

I wore that in the 50's all through High School......I was crazy about it and it was my absolute favorite for YEARS afterwards! Actually, I started to put that down in my post as my "first" real perfume, but I figured nobody would have heard of it and decided to go for scents in the more recent years!

I wore Avon's "Ariane" and "Patchwork" until they discontinued them (GRRRR); also wore "Tommy' Girl" fromTommy Hilfiger (sp?), that I still love, and Hubby recently surprised me with a small but wonderful bit of "White Diamonds", which is GREAT!

you have 11,582 congregations in the u.s.. contributions are (deservedly) down.

let's say $500 a month for a year - $6000.

Hi Metatron!

I have absolutely nothing to base this on but a sometimes faulty memory, but when I left the WTS in the Fall of '99, I thought that the number of U.S, congregations was just a little under 18,000!

Am I even close on this one, and have that many congregations been "lost" in not even three years? (Or am I way off-base here?)....Anybody?????

Hoping I'm right...(I LOVE to hear the "WTS's downsizing" rather than having them gloat about their increase and blessings, yada, yada, yada :0)

Subliminal Messages In WT Pictures???

please don't be turned off because this is rather creepy and has "reference" only to the occult.

because the information was found on a website that i got from a post on this forum.

Whooee! QUITE a topic, Sentinel!

When I was a kid, I used to LOVE those pictures in different magazines and kiddie publications that had the "find the hidden objects", etc. Actually, I usually spotted them more quickly than the other kids; kind of a "trained eye" thing I'd guess.

It never occurred to me as an adult, to play "find the hidden objects" in the WTS publications.......but I WILL say that MANY of the "illustrations" over my 30 year span of being a loyal Dub, DID give me an "uneasy" feeling, for some reason. A lot of the artwork seemed "awkward" to me (for lack of a better term) and just didn't "look right". I just chalked it up to the "artist" that had drawn these things I was "uncomfortable with", and their talent (or lack of) and told myself I was just being too picky. (making it my fault)

Not long after I DAed myself, I came across a wonderful French website (HUGE) that had example after example of WTS illustrations that had LOTS of "find the hidden objects" within the pictures, but didn't let the READER know they were there....(WHY???)

I went and got what few publications I had kept (I tossed out the rest) and THERE THEY WERE, just as the website had said they were! (Weird) I hafta say, it gave ME a creepy feeling, to say the least! It also reinforced my ever-growing disgust for the WTS, just wondering what the hell they were UP to? After ALL, they CLAIM to be SO PURE and "untouched" by ANYTHING demonic, etc. and constantly ASSURE their followers as to their integrity and honesty in all matters.

I am STILL baffled as to WHAT the hell they ARE up to with these numerous occult images within their "pure" publications.

Syn, I gotta take issue with this on two counts........one being that there must be MANY "bored painters" at Brooklyn.......and "they" have REALLY taken a lot of "artistic license" by incorporating occult images in the publications that their own "brothers and sisters" in the faith will be absorbing as their spiritual food. Hard to believe.

The second being that, according to what *I* was told for so many years, that each publication goes through many "hands" before acceptances, completion, and printing. It would SEEM that SOMEONE along the line would SEE the "mistakes" in SO MANY illustrations over the years, don't you think?

Panda, WEAK EXAMPLES????? Seeing as how the Organization keeps battering everyone with their ongoing bragging that THEY are the ONLY TRUE RELIGION, there shouldn't even BE ANY EXAMPLES of hidden occult influence in their publications, weak or otherwise, RIGHT? Sorry, poor excuse, Panda!

* EX-JW 2003 Yearbook *

we have all seen the yearbooks that are printed by wts with accounts of people who suffered to become part of their organization.

would it not be helpful to raise public awareness if the ex-jw community likewise had a *yearbook* including experiences of those who have overcome extraordinary obstacles while in the cult or because they were trying to leave the cult?

granted, everyone's story has it own merit, but if we had to narrow down the number of people to be profiled--who would you chose?

Hey Six..........Does FEELING like we've travelled through 25 miles of crock infested wasteland as we try to pull our lives together count?

I continue to be horrified/amazed/stunned at the nasty twists and turns MY life has taken since I DAed myself in '99, and just HOW much the WTS still "controls" ME, whether I like it or not!

THEY change the rules, change their minds, and cleverly manipulate those who still put their trust in THEM for "spiritual" guidance..........as they also knowingly rip apart, totally shred and successfully destroy families beyond repair, as in my case.

No one would believe it-----and *I* have to LIVE it, and "cope" with the "WTS fallout" every day...................

The "Ex-JW 2003 Yearbook" is an interesting concept!

Arrested for going kingdumb and dumber hall!

arrested for going kingdumb hall!.

last night (3/21) the mountain view (ca) police arrested me.. this happened as i was attending the sunnyvale congregation service meeting.. i was dfd last july and was told by the elders the conditions for reinstatement were meeting attendance, repentance along with not speaking to anyone or anyone speaking to me (shunning at its finest).

(btw, i was dfd for apostasy).
