  today i am leaving for ky, where my jw mother and step father reside.

  sometime during this hectic week, we are having a little meeting of our own with them.

  you see, my mother has repeatedly disregarded my wishes and have snuck my children to meetings (ages 2, & 3), taken them out in service, put them in direct contact with a paticular elder that we expressed several times that the kids were to be no where around, etc etc.

  i ordered a copy of crisis of conscience from borders and just picked it up.

  Indepentant Bible Study w/o WTS!

  i've been interested in studying the bible, independant of any wts publications.

  but i am at a loss for where to start.

  also, i have no one, really, to discuss things with, such as what i'm finding or reading.

  witnesses are trained for the preaching work.

  their meetings, study, everything, is directed toward the preaching and teaching work.

  What about the children?

  i feel sorry for all jw's who get sucked in by the thinking "we will love you as long as you are good enough for jah.

  " but, i feel worse for the children.

  adults are able to decide for themselves, whether it's a religion that they want to persue.

  that i've been thinking about lately.. since jesus was a perfect man, how can anyone realistically be expected to follow in his shoes?

  why use him as an example of standing up to tests and remaining faithful?

  we are, after all, imperfect humans.. c.t.

  because i can't seem to become....

  unconfused!!

  when i met my current dh, we were told by the elders that even a hello or a glance at the kh (much less anywhere else) was forbidden.

  i was raised as a witness from the age of 10. i am now 23 yo.

  i was disfellowshipped at the age of 19 for marrying a man who was studying.
