  The End of Circuit Overseers

  i am sure that the term "circuit overseer" will be gone soon.

  they seem to be changing vocabulary and the presiding overseer is now the "coordinator of the body of elders" and all "district overseers" will be gone in a few months.

  they used to be called "circuit servants" but they will never re-hash an old term so they will make a new term.

  random points:

  a).is there any way of proving exact amount of fuel on plane..ie. if a plot then perhaps plane had extra fuel to travel further.

  b) if hijacked (if)..then no group will claim responsibilty as it would flag up danger and perhaps stall any deviant purpose they might have yet to use plane for.

  c) if hijacked / in danger why no mobile phone calls/texts from passengers ( assuming phones not in flight mode)

  just random thoughts.....either way my thoughts are with the families of missing persons..must be awful for them being in limbo...

  initially I thought it must have crashed in jungle and maybe have survivors...but time will eventually reveal its fate.....it cannot have simply disappeared..

  CO's & DO's age 70+ to be laid off on 9/1/14

  in a private conversation with a c.o.

  friend from north carolina, he told me yesterday that they just got a letter that all traveling overseers (do's & co's) age 70 & up are going to be laid off on 09/01/2014.

  they will be asssigned to local congregations and further details are pending.. .

  I suspect the wives of such retired ones will be a major force to be reckoned with when they come to terms with reduced quality of life etc as husbands die leaving them exposed to financial hardship into old age......

  this is a topic that i was always uncomfortable with, but, as a good indoctrinated jw got myself to accept the spin.

  of course, now that i am out, when i speak with other "christian" friends, they make the same excuses.

  god's ways are above our ways ... okay, sure ... but really???.

  i find it hard to fathom the god of the bible....supposedly the reason why mankind is suffering is because the issue of sovereignty was raised in garden of eden.....but the more i think about this viewpoint the more i fail to see why a god would a) have allowed his sovereignty to be challenged ( in this case by 'satan')....and b) subjecting mankind to suffering for so long just to prove god's righteousness is rather like me as a father allowing an intruder into the home to murder my children and me saying 'there you are...i'm a good dad..'....logic fails me in all of this..

  Really bizarre part on the meeting last night

  on the service meeting there was a part covering a couple of pages from the tms guidebook chapter on warmth and feeling.

  rather than coaching the r&f on how to make a school talk sound warm, it focused on the people that jws meet in their ministry.

  basically, the part could have been labelled "how to fake warmth and feeling.

  we all know that elders and ministerials are appointed by holy spirit.

  i was in the organization for about 25 years and was in 4 different congregations over the years.. in one congregration there was a sister in her mid-50's with an unbelieving husband.

  he did not attend meetings.

  comments sadly are very true.....genuinely loving and kind men who willingly help without seeking recognition rarely become MS/Elders.......but judgmental, clicky, nepotistic,who bring overlarge well packed cases are...

  Ha!! In over 30 years a witness I had 4 shepherding calls........even though I was a single lone parent brother who needed support and received none.... many elders are riddled with nepotism....blinkered self serving token care for others....
