It is biblical to plan for your future. To work hard, enjoy your work, and be able to take care of yourself and your family. The Watchtower should have been teaching this all along.

Reddit thread - ‘Organization Finally Suggesting to Plan for Retirement’
by LongHairGal inthis information is supposed to be in the upcoming march wt.
(i don’t go on jw dot org).
it would sound like they are hinting at a change in thinking.. in my opinion, any such change would be yet another slap in the face to faithful pimis along with those other recent changes.. there are so many heartfelt responses on that thread and a lot of justified anger.. don’t know what to say except that i’m so glad i never listened to the religion all those years ago.

Revising History
by no-zombie inwhile i'm aware of wt books being revised without noting the differences on newer editions (the truth book is a classic example of this) ... is there evidence of the writing committee revising the online versions of wt articles, as compared to the printed editions?.
if there is a previous thread on this topic, just link it ... as these is no need to reinvent the wheel.. thanks.

It was The Truth™ we needed at that particular time.
Lol. Wrong. It was The Truth™ that led to terrible, devastating, wrong headed decisions that set people's real lives back and caused in many cases, irreparable damage.

Information control at it's best. Nevermind, so many people made life changing decisions based on what was in print (only to see those words changed or deleted). This is my biggest gripe with the Watchtower. Information control.

How to respond to any JW about The Watchtower being an NGO
by Bluegrass Tom ini prepared the following in abrief essay form from my research on the subject.. please read it through.
it will take a few minutes.i believe it is comprehensive enough for use with almost anyone.. if any one wants it in word ot pdf format, i can email it you.. a matter of reason.
the issue of being disturbed by the watchtower society becoming associated with the united nations as a non-governmental organization (ngo) is not a matter of faith, but a matter of reason.. .

This is supposed to be because beards are allowed now and people can say 'hi' at a meeting? Also, didn't these changes just happen a couple months ago?

1/25 WT: Oral and Anal sex are a go - if she's ok with it
by neat blue dog inhe will not pressure her to engage in sexual acts that make her feel uncomfortable, that are demeaning, or that bother her conscience..... the bible does not provide details as to what sexual practices between a husband and a wife should be considered clean or unclean.
a christian couple must make decisions that reflect their resolve to honor jehovah, to please each other, and to maintain a clean conscience.
generally speaking, a couple would not discuss with others this intimate aspect of their marriage..

I totally agree Disgruntled. Although most JW women probably haven't allowed themselves to think or feel about these things. They are too inhibited.

Explanation for changes to Disfellowshipping rules at Annual Meeting
by Listener inwally, a youtuber from jw thoughts highlighted something that was said by kenneth cook jnr in the annual meeting.
he thinks it may be removed before they publish the agm.
i doubt we would see it in writing either.. part of kenneth's talk was about the changes regarding disfellowshipping and the clip from jw thoughts youtube shows him saying -.

What they really need to clarify is how should family treat those "removed"? This is where the real damage is done.
There is a difference between someone who wants to engage in certain behaviors and those who struggle. Who want to change but are basically addicted to a behavior. I feel like alot of disfellowshipped people fit into the latter category.
When a person who is basically addicted loses their whole support system this does no one any good. There needs to be some nuance here. Where the organization can say they are protecting the congregation but the person needing help is still given support and not completely cut off.

I actually think the "new light" on disfellowshipping is a step in the right direction. It makes their position more clear on their view to repentance. It is now in the open for all in the congregations to see.
It's not about feeling bad or crying or whatever. It's about was this a one off thing for which we give a private talking to but not everyone needs to know or is it a pattern that the person needs to fix ( on their own because the elders are not psychologists).
Also, the language has softened so the psychological reaction to all of it is way better.
It's a positive, just about 30 years behind as usual.

It's about time they said this. This was a problem in my marriage. Elders telling us what was acceptable. It's not in the Bible so it should be up to the couple to decide and figure out. I sure would like to bring this new article up to all of them now.
