I recently prayed for the sale of the previous house we lived in...mind you we had it with 2 different realtors; I wanted it sold and asked God for the widsom to get it done; only when my husband agreed to lower the price did the right person come along; we close on it Thursday; the woman who wants is crazy about it (don't know why but to each his own) and I am ecstatic! Whichever way it happened as long as it sold!

Have you ever had a prayer answered?
by nicolaou inprayer topics seem to be the bandwagon of the moment so i'm jumping on!
seriously, has anyone here asked for something specific in prayer and actually gotten what they asked for?
what convinces you that you wouldn't have got it in any case?

No, on a rare occasion I will honk if necessary - but only then...I drive defensively.

an "Adult's" View.
by RichieRich inhere i sit, in my public library, typing away a computer from a hot nasty seat.. but i wouldn't be anywhere else in the world right now.
(okay, maybe a couple of other places).
i have to be at work in 40 minutes, and its a 15 minute drive from here, so lets not expect a novel of a post.. yesterday was my birthday, and they did a little cake thing for me and all that which was nice, but otherwise, nothing is new.. my mother seems to be cooling off, but lets just say that the "excrement flinging fan" hasn't been turned off yet.. i'm 18 now, and nothing is different.

Don't smoke! That's the worst thing you can do...no one likes to be around smokers these days. Happy Birthday - let's hope you can get over all these fecal matter WT people are throwing at you.

Saturday Morning Dubs
by Stephanus inon saturday morning last, my youngest son and i caught a train two stations up the line so he could go to granma's house and earn his weekly $5 working in her garden for a couple of hours.
the train got into "granma's station" on time at 7:55am.
it was an all stations to sydney train, so noone got off to wait for another train to sydney.

We were advised to try informal witnessing at convenience stores. I remember one morning I was listening to a well known DJ in the Dallas area talk about his daily trip to 7-11 and every day there was the same man there with magazines. That man was my uncle!

My daughter has to call her 'mum'
by katiekitten inim sorry i havent been on the forum for ages.
but like the prodigal son i have a problem now, and i would really appreciate some help and input.. i found out at the beginning of the week, by a slip of the tongue from my daughter, that she has been told by her dad to call his new wife 'mum'.
daughter is 8, and on questioning has said that she feels she might get told off if she doesnt use this term.. i initially phoned her dad to ask if this was true, and he told me she uses the term all the time and 'its none of my business'.

That is quite common amongst ex's, although my step child calls me by my first name, he has called me Mom on occasion.

What is the quickest time frame that a Reinstated JW's got DF'd again?
by booker-t inmy co worker tammy(not her real name) was disfellowshipped twice once in 2002 and again in 2005. she was reinstated for a second time in jan 2006 but i recently found out from her that she is having an "affair" with a non jw's man at our job.
tammy wants to go to the elders but she is afraid that they will df'd her for the 3rd time.
i been talking to her telling her not to go to the elders but she keeps telling me that she feels so guilty and that she does not want to get destroyed by jehovah at armaggeddon.

Six months is the quickest I have known anyone - then after they were reinstated, they immediately stopped going to the meetings. She told me she just wanted her family to speak to her and that was the only way she could figure out how to do it.

What age group has to sacrifice the most to be a JW?
by JH in.
what age group has it easier or harder to be a jw?

Anyone between the ages of birth and death; although the older folks get to park closer to the front.

You know you're an elders' wife when...
by stillAwitness in.
...you're asleep in the back of the hall after the meeting while waiting for your husband to finish up another elders' meeting.

You take separate cars to the meetings SO you won't have to wait for hours.
