Now this is new light !
Science is awesome - honest study & observation.
It confirms my belief that we are just a bunch of Hobbits worried about our immediate needs, circumstances, trials, hopes and dreams.

researchers working with a telescope at the south pole beleive they have glimpsed light from the first "trillionth of a trillionth of a tillionth" of a second after the big bang.. a lot of work has still to be done to confirm the findings, but if it holds up it is one of the biggest discoveries ever.. _________________________________________.
...inflation came with a very specific prediction - that it would be associated with waves of gravitational energy, and that these ripples in the fabric of space would leave an indelible mark on the oldest light in the sky - the famous cosmic microwave background.. the bicep2 team says it has now identified that signal.
scientists call it b-mode polarisation.

The Society of Professional Journalists support a strict Code of Ethics. These codes are taught to every single journalism student in the United States.
The SPJ states that it is the duty of all journalist (in any media) to "seek truth and to provide a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues."
The Code states in part :
The Watchtower society is distorting the truth about this profession.
In fact, they break ALL of the above Code that are strictly follow by journalists.

this is the last boe we will be able to provide.
our informant or source, was caught, disfellowshipped, and thrown out of bethel.
we knew that sooner or later the watchtower would find him out.
Thanks Atlantis - and this couragous (and honest) man - for your distribution of these 'inside' letters. These documents were instrumental in helping me see another reality of the organization and I've used what they revealed to encourage a few close family members to begin to question.
I have kept all of these letters on a memory stick.
Do the Bethel members have their own laptops in their rooms? Are they connected into a Bethel intranet system?
If so, all activity on a pc can be monitored in house. And the camera can be used to watch the computer operator at his machine. If the machines aren't part of a Bethel network the drives can still be read if a 'maintainance' session is performed - revealing internet activity & searches, saved files, etc.

i think i will want to kill myself during the friday afternoon symposium.
it should be called "how to not enjoy life or have fun.".
Saturday afternoon looks like the biggie!
Sound drama : "Jehovah is the only true God" (insert the 'Governing Body 8' in place of 'Jehovah').
"Jehovah's Organization - 100 years of seeking first God's established kingdom" (this is typically a new release talk....I'd expect a new and improved (revisionist) history book of Jehovah's Witnesses - or a series of DVD's at least...with a minimizing of Charles Russell and his 19th century ideas). I might speculate that Nathan Knorr will become the hero of 'modern day' Jehovah's Witnesses - with his emphasis on global expansion and educational programs.

another good conversation my wife yesterday!
i got her to read the main page at jwfacts and she was astounded by the lawsuits for protecting pedophiles, the un.
she didnt complete the whole page becuse she clicked on the links to those subjects.. we talked about them and she agreed with it.
The tide is turning in your family! The same thing happened in ours about a year ago. Continue to be patient. The pull of the Org and the congregation will cause set backs and instill some fear of becoming inactive.
She needs your reassurance and will want to hear how you're excited about your life (and what the future holds for you two).

per co last night, he mentioned in his talk that in oder for a brother to be recommended as an elder or ministrial servant he must have a regular and meaningful family worship night.
this will demostrate his willingness not to miss that important meeting and preside over his household.. so i thought, wow what a way to add to the "inspired" biblical list of qualifications.
serving jehovah is sounding more and more and more organizational..
Family studies are almost always started with good intentions and are used to underline the upcoming Watchtower study article. Those of us who raised little ones in this religion might remember reading from the Bible Stories book - and that counted as 1 hour of study on the ol' time slip.
Most often an ongoing weekly family study ends within a month - in my experience and from observation.
Elders (these guys are rarely 'shepherds') keep track of publishers by looking at 1) their meeting attendance and 2) their monthly service report.

after years of looking down on me for not being "in the truth", being told (more or less) that my daughter died because i did not have the "truth" and therefore god's approval.
my sister has, after forty years of marriage and fifty years of being in the truth....left her husband and her dis-fellowshipped son and gone to live with our other sister (who by the way is disassociated).
i am amazed at this turn of events, as i have always been led to believe that they were a fine example of how complete and spiritually protected they were as a family for being in the jw religion.
What a pity. This is a story that can be repeated many times over in Jehovah's Witness families.
The core of the problem is honesty. Your sister isn't honest with herself or others. She is in denial. She blames everyone else for her unhappiness. She clings to one thing that appears stable ... the Organization and the promises it promotes. We know this is an illusion.
Maybe this would be a good time for you to be honest with her. Don't be judgemental. Don't try to make a point. Let her know that you are family - and you're here to help her in anyway possible.
She is having a major life crisis. Her 'friends' in the congregation will drop her like a hot potato. She'll need your unconditional love and understanding.
Good luck!

my second chat with an elder focused on the lack of any archaeological evidence that the exodus happened.
quite simply it seems to me that a company of 3 million plus livestock could not possibly be sustained in the wilderness, and if they were there then there would definately be evidence.
one writer described the size of the crowd as - imagine 10 people stood side by side, well the line would be 120 miles long with a 3 million crowd.. the elder went through the insight book and discussed the organization of the crowd which has the encampment spread into divisions etc.
Confirmation bias is the problem.
