4. Soaking we shirts
I guess I went to the wrong conventions!!! They didn't have wet T-shirt contests at our DCs.
a letter was read this week at the philadelphia area kingdom halls that this year's district convention will be held in norphilly (north philly) at the liacouras center (temple university's indoor arena).
this is the first time the philadelphia district convention will be held indoors.
here's what people will miss at the vet (feel free to add to the list): .

from the first book of adam and eve (also known as the conflict of adam and eve with satan) (chapter 18): .
when the accursed serpent saw adam and eve, it swelled its head, stood on its tail, and with eyes blood-red, did as if it would kill them.
it made straight for eve, and ran after her; while adam standing by, wept because he had no stick in his hand wherewith to smite the serpent, and knew not how to put it to death.
Why does the JWs accept the Cannon of the Catholics yet refute their teachings? Actually, there are some books in the Catholic Bible that are not int he NWT, like Bel the Dragon and some others...can't remember them off hand.
how many of you on this forum were born into the jw faith?
do you think this put you at a disadvantage when leaving the org.
do you think that someone who becomes a witness later in life would have an easier time adjusting back to a "normal" life?
I married into it, and it would be far worse had I been born into it. I would have lost my "fleshly family" (ack, JW saying) too. But either way, its worth the peace of mind.
i have tons of them, favorite movie quotes that is.
a misspent youth i guess, but i love movies.
i was watching one of my favorites the other day, seven.
1. "Like in the back of a Volkswagon" -mallrats
2. When Jack Nicholson (Melvin) is asked how he writes women so well "I think of a man and take away all reason and accountability" -As Good As It Gets

Happy New Year!!!
the society reports millions of hours spent in the field service yearly.
when you were active did you follow theocratic instructions carefully and faithfully?.
did you stop for a coffee break and keep your time going?
My time started at 9:00 when I got to the KH. The time kept going, I counted time I donated away from my life, not the time I knocked on doors. I rounded up to the nearest hour, too. I guess I was a horrible witness, fudging numbers so I couldn't get hassled by the cong. OTF Well!
i have a good question.when jehovah-witnesses believed that smurfs were demons that is what they thought and no one will ever change that it's just a fact of life for the jehovah-witnesses.i think it is very hilarious but it is not for a jehovah-witness they believe what they believe and we believe what we believe.i thought when i found out about the demon smurfs i thought it was hilarious but it is not.
So you are saying it is hilarious
I am not saying it is not hilarious but it is not hilarios
but its not for a dub but it is the funniest thing you ever heard.
Being scared of smurfs is one thing but thinking they are demons is another.
Why else would anyone be afraid of smurfs???? I fail to see the humor. I believe it is equally silly to think smurfs are demons as to be afraid of them.
Ok, no more feeding trolls for me.
sad to say but within my old congregation.
there was ayoung brother whom wanted to be made up to a ministerial servant, doing everything right, .
out on the ministry /good at number 4 talks helping on all the quickbuilds etc.,helping old ladys.
Quite the opposite in my old cong. They were pushing me to be a MS, but I wouldn't do it. I cut my hours back and took myself outa the school so they would quit asking me. But the were pushing for them.
There was one family in the hall that all their offspring were "a lotta slow" and the elders wouldn't let them get baptized because he though they didn't comprehend the seriousness of it. they were in their mid 20s at the time.
But I haven't seen them hold someone back from MS unless there was some personal vendeta against him or he was doing stuff behind your back and the elders knew about it.
Too many secrets and too many people trying to find them out if you ask me.
