Consider the "outcome" when elders apply the two-witness "rule"
by AndersonsInfo injehovahs witnesses two-witness rule is applied by elders when a witness member accuses another member of a sin, even if that sin is a criminal act.
if there arent two witnesses to the accusation, it goes nowhere, including not being reported to the authorities.
and in the case of an allegation of child abuse, the accused is free to molest again.. watchtower attorney, jim mccabe, recently stated this about jehovahs witnesses two-witness rule which he described as a bible-based belief :.

Did Josephus believe in Jesus as The Christ?
by opusdei1972 inhere is the questioned josephus' text :.
now, there was about this time jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful worksa teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure.
he drew over to him both many of the jews, and many of the gentiles.

Jehovah's Witnesses are the only people who don't practice war and who preach worldwide!
by EndofMysteries inthis is what somebody has been telling me, trying to convince me aside from anything one can say or cause reason for doubt, as the evidence that they are the true religion and true people of god.
they are convinced because while 'all other' christian and other religions support war, troops, etc, jw's don't and they are the only one's who carry god's name and preach.
nothing else matters.

Syme is right "they consider themselves citizens of "God's government" and thus cannot serve in another government's army"
But the problem with that is that they seek and benefit from the Allies in WWII to rescue them from the Nazis.
Get someone else to do their dirty work.

Trinity Brochure
by flamegrilled inhas anybody heard an official reason that the trinity brochure is deceased?.
the gb have been released basically new versions of old brochures with wild abandon, and yet the trinity brochure which has absolutely no equivalent is no longer in print.. why?.
we all know there were dodgy references/quotations therein, but you would think by now the gb would have put some effort into a viable replacement if it were posssible.. nobody seems to be making too much of this as far as i can see.. the trinity brochure was very naughty.

"One example of dishonest journalism must be the referrences to the early church fathers. The SYBITT brochure states thatall the church fathers agreed that Jesus was not God. Too bad for the WTS that the opposite of what they state is true with plenty of easily obtainable written evidence."
Why does it matter what the early church fathers said? What did they know? Why does it matter what Tertulian or Ireneus or Justin Martyr said?
I don't understand why that matters. Who cares what they quote or not from them??

I keep hearing this about misquotes in it but I never see any evidence of that.
By saying that there are misquotes in it, are you saying that there is a trinity?
Or is the contention that the Watchtower writers were not being honest in their attack on a doctrine that is false.
Those quotes don't mean anything anyway. A person over 1000 years ago said something. Is that supposed to mean anything?
The only thing that means something is that God himself says it or if Jesus says it.
Then if someone was inspired by God to say it.
The others such as apostles, Paul, Peter, James, Jude, John (except for Revelation) were not inspired. And those after them were
not inspired. What they said matters not.

Berrygerry said "If Jesus is the mediator only for the anointed, then how can he be the ransom for the R & F?"
Simple. Mediators do not ransom. Mediators mediate. Jesus as mediator, the antitype of Moses, mediates between Jehovah and the 144,000 the new covenant.
Jesus as high priest, the antitype of Aaron, offers his sacrifce to Jehovah for everyone who puts faith in it.

Why do Jw's have to pay for CO's expenses?
by nolongerconfused inthis is something that has always bothered me!.
why do rank and file have to pay for co's do's expenses, car, health insurance, meals, etc, etc...?.
didn't the apostle paul say that all christians have to be self sufficient and work?, not depending on anyone else and cause a burden?.

Kaik said " He did not. To Jews, Jesus was another failed prophet, one many that claimed to be messiah. However, only Jesus became world mainstream religion that has nothing to do with original Jewish idea of Messiah as king, priest, and prophet".
It does not matter what the Jews thought of him. He became king after he was resurrected, also a priest. Then he can do something a human can't do.
The real question is: Which was added first, the trinitarian formula of 1 John 5:7 or the one in Matt 28:19,20.
Both are false teachings.
