an action that can seem so small to one person or a desision made with selfish intent can have effects without the action taker or desicion maker even considering or realising it.
selfishness or self absorbation; we focus so much on us that the reprocusions of every little thing we do become inconsequential as long as we or those we care about are 'safe'.. when i was little in the car i would make up stories about people we drove past based on that split second they passed through my life.
The Bible calls it *sin*. Sometimes it takes a while for people to catch on to this problem we have. I commend you on your observations :)

Perhaps I made a hasty generalization about JW's, but there are a gaggle of them in my neighborhood (yes that's right...gaggle) and there are a lot on certain corners every morning and never once have I seen them share these 'truths' with the hundreds of homeless that are in that area. I have also talked to exjw's that were told not to waste their time on people like that.

Why not? Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead because the WTBTS is a false religion?! I fail to see the reasoning! Why disregard everything just because of some liars? If there is no God and no resurrection, then those of us who beleive are to be pitied more than those who are starving to death. Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die. Do you really think that this highly complex system of life has no answers and no direction? I assure you it does and they are all found in Christ.

i am not advocating or encouraging anything...just dreaming.... after recently discovering the extent of the wtb&t's dependence upon compaq computers i was just entertaining a little fantasy about releasing the good news virus into their computer systems, which would propagate through email and also automatically be downloaded from apostate sites that the witnesses undoubtedly spy upon.
this virus would be rather nasty i'm afraid.. instead of doing something along the lines of cleaning out their hard drive or posting obscene material it would do the following:.

Hey BibleX, I am sorry to hear that your wife has been duped for so long. It must be tough to handle, but I think letting the truth slip a little at a time might finally pay off someday.

well, i did it.. it's official and i'm relieved.. the elders wanted to try talking to me once again, but after awhile it was obvious that they were only interested in changing my thoughts not answering any questions.
so, i just calmly asked if i could disassociate myself.
they acted stunned and they got tears in their eyes, but i told them that i had already grieved and was ready to move on with life.
Way to go sister! Just remember that you have been exposed to a misrepresentation of God and who his followers are. Please don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. God loves you and Jesus is the way of salvation. You cannot do anything to earn His love or merit salvation. The gift is free and the offer still stands. I will be praying for you. some of you may remember that when i joined this forum i was having problems at home regarding the un issue.
everything appears to have settled down now and i promised my mum that i wouldnt mention it again to her.
however, looking back at the events around that time, i feel that the circuit overseer not only made it difficult for me, but also for my mother.
Sirona, I would send it just as it is. State the truth. If people can't handle it, then that is their problem. I understand that you don't want to make any waves at home, but eventually your mother will see that you stand for what is right, not for what you are spoon fed. God Bless,

well, i'm finally reading coc, and i must tell you that despite already being an ex-dub i was *shocked*.
the thing that got me was the gb's apparently unselfconsciously acting above all the rules that they would apply so harshly to everyone else.
maybe i'm naive, but i didn't expect that level of hypocrisy.. so what did you find most shocking in coc?
Bboy, I guess I fail to see your logic. A man devotes his life to serving God, discovers that the men he works with that also claim to be serving God are corrupt, so now he should abandon his faith? i.e. God is corrupt and Jesus is no longer true? Talk about throwing the baby out.
