What do you think of Seeker (good or bad)?

reading farkel's thoughts about being called names, and remembering my own discouragement about the same thing, and thinking about all the posts recently decrying the fighting and bad language, i'm curious to know how my "seeker" persona is perceived here.

i know i have fought with some, made friends with others, so how i am perceived will be varied.

i want to know it all, the good, the bad, the ugly.

I side with Seeker. Your explainations of truth have been debunked so many times here I won't bother to do it again. As far as knowing the teachings of the protestant religions, can anybody know all the different ways they explain the bible? I have been attending an independant Christian church for about a year, to learn first hand what they do and teach. When you have seen one, you have seen them all. I have seen all the human faults expressed and demonstrated here. It is claimed that it is directed and inspired by Holy Spirit, if so God is human. Religion is an invention of humans as can be seen by the history of all religions. I don't think the Creator would claim them.(If there is a Creator who made things as cruel as nature.)

Observation by an outsider

i notice that because the jw's point out flaws with the churches doctrines and beliefs that instead of fixing or repenting or solving the issues it's easier for church people to form a backlash whether it's honest or falacious in order to displace blame and smokescreen their own inadequacies.. you can not heal yourself by pointing out anothers wounds, you also can not solve your problems by displacing them instead of admiting and addressing them.. if a jw or anyone else points out the problem of abuse in the church then by pointing out an abuse in the jw elders does not solve the issues of the church abuses neither is it repentance as repentance should be.. if you can't discuss the bible and resons why you fall short and trasngress then by bringing up personal issues or attacking each other like jackals does not change those transgressions it just adds more.. as an outsider i must say all of you are like animals on their prey simply because you didn't like being exposed for your false testiments and false practices.

this means your emotional and psychological and spiritual level is far from being grown up.. will you dare persecute me for pointing out such observations?

a spiritually grown person will reflect on what i say, admit to it and try to change, but a child of darkness will feel their ego hurt and group rpide kicks in causing a person not grown to become defensive bitter and mean/perhaps even spiteful.

Hi MNHS,

I have spent many hours in search of truth in religion, JWs and others and the conclusion I have reached is God has nothing to do with the religious organizations of men. The bible sure doesn't seem to be a revelation of God's thoughts to men either. If it was you could at least understand it's message without having so many contridictions, with each religious faith having to establish it's own dogma, contrary to the other's, with each one still claiming to have God's spirit directing it, and with the bible as it's foundational truth.

I have seen too much personality conflicts in churches to have God's spirit as it's basis. I think religious people are just using it as a means to quell their fear of death and the hereafter. I'm not bashing religious people but I feel they are delusional.

The past history of religious wars and intolerence doesn't say much for organized religion.

with the foretold apostasy now fully underway, the stage is set for jehovahs ongoing controversy to be pressed to its ultimate conclusion.

piece by piece, chunks of the underlying economy, the life blood of the present system of things, are falling away.

You may be right about the economy, it is definitely on the downward slide here in NC. The industries are laying off people every day here, including my wife and niece, but what does this have to do with the end of the world. The great depression didn't bring the end. Just because people are seeing the truth about the WT Society(Apostates) doesn't mean there arn't enough dummies to keep it going for years to come. Your doom and gloom attitude must make you so dependent on a disaster that if everything keeps going you will be so depressed, you just might cause your own doom.

well, captain dan the news man is back in the drug war.

the latest threat is from the evil villain oxycontin.

it's causing a crime wave.

I agree somewhat with you on making drugs legal, it would take much of the crime out of drug use. I also agree that alcohol can be addictive and does ruin lives, my wife's dad was an alcoholic for many years and my cousins husband drank himself to death.

As for myself I will never try drugs as I don't have a need to feel on a high. I do drink a beer ocassionally, I like the taste, but not in the presence of my wife, her history with alcohol and her dad makes her hate alcohol. Everyone should take responsibility for their own life but when it affects others, especially children, sometimes they need some discipline.

Hi Mike,

You are playing with a life killer. It can ruin your life quicker than the borg. My wifes niece is addicted to crack(sp). She has two small kids and can't take responsibility for their care. There is a little neighborhood of black dope dealers about 4 miles from here and she goes up there and does blow jobs to get dope. Sometimes she calls others to come and get her and bring money so they will let her go home. She is pregnant now and is still doing drugs. Yes she is married and he is addicted too. He will gladly sell her for dope.

All I can say is more power to the government to stop this crap. She stole my TV from my camper to get dope. If you don't think it is addictive and causes much crime, live on in your dream world.

When I see her little kids and what they have gone through because of their addiction, I get angry. Dope has no place in a responsible persons life.

We are all in deep dookie, no one has escaped death yet, even Christ died and we have seen nothing from him since, except a few fundies who claim he talks to them, and a few old guys who claim he's back invisibly. Why doesn't something happen!! I don't care if I go with the "world" bring it on. I haven't lost all hope in a creator, just the one described by the bible, a vengeful, hateful God, always describing some sword, fire or destruction.

According to the story in Genesis, who told the truth? Did Adam and Eve recognize good and evil after eating from the tree? Did they die that very day?

Such things are not God's doings, it's all the consequence of God's right to rule being called into question. The imbalance that we observe and are subjected to is due to the foolishness of our forefather Adam, and a superior creature known as Satan. Why is it that we wear eyeglasses and hearing aids? Why are there tornadoes and earthquakes? All for the same reasons of course.

So man created fleas, ticks and causes tornadoes and earthquakes, is that what you are saying? Maybe you ment that God screwed man's existence up to show him that he had been a bad boy.

I was raised with your explaination along with the end is comming soon. I don't believe the creator had anything to do with such a story.

a few years a go when rehearsing our circut assembbly parts before the co.. a brother had a part geared for the young ones and he used the scripture in the psalms that talks about deliverence from the bird catcher.

well he warn the young ones;"when it come to setting traps satan knows just what to use to lure people into the trap in fact when it comes to setting traps satan is a ([master-baiter])".. when he sat down next to me after he finished his talk i told him i learned something i never knew from his talk.

he asked me what was that?.
