I asked all those questions and answered them. God didn't write the bible like I thought he did. Tech please read Misquoting Jesus by Bart Erhman. It's a really good read. Explains why you wonder those questions. It's not a religious book. It's about bible writers and the translations.

This was a classless act. Not everyone is the same religion, there could have been religious people who were non Christian there. Also could have been atheists there. It's an attention grabbing statement that was not heartfelt. Classless.

i am over whelmed by the responses.
i work very hard through the week and the only time i can reply is in the early morning hours, i read the respones on my iphone through out the day, if there was a way to log on with the phone, i would.

I am so so happy to have our three new members. I just hope so much that one day my dad may be like one of you and wake up. Thanks for posting all three of you. Honestly, you don't know how much good it can do. Many witnesses lurk here and if they see good god fearing men waking up that can help them! I would encourage you to make the title of your post something that would be eye catching for a lurking witness or for someone who just stumbles upon it. They can be helped to know they are not alone. Many feel severe depression over these issues.

by James Jackson ini have served 20 years as an elder, 5 years as an ms. was on the district committee in 2010, held various positions on the district , circuit, and rbc level.
probably been on more than 100 judicial committees and even an appeals committee.
was the coordinator in our congregation and deleted because adult child was df ( i kicked him out at the time of his wrongdoing, but that wasn't enough for thr brothers).

Welcome, the journey can be nauseating... Take it slow. We are here for you. I was in similar situations as you, but my wife and I decided to get out as carefully and peacefully as we could to maintain our family relationships and friends where possible. Don't let everything overwhelm you.
Contrary to what you are used to thinking, we have all the time in the world. Go slow. Use us to vent instead of other witnesses. Protect yourself.

she made an excellant point and i have to admit i am asking myself the same question does jehovah enjoy watching people suffer.
the case she brought up was the flood story.

He created the situation by making a temptation and allowing an angel to corrupt his creation man. So then to let angels come and mate with people and then flood the earth, yes. The god of the bible is not loving.

Once was on a door step and both my friend and I had to pee so bad. We were literally dancing a bit and hopping one leg to the other. It appeared to be a not at home. My friend said he had to pee worse than a russian race horse. Not one second later the door opened and a lady was there. I started laughing, then said i was sorry he would explain why we were there. But, he was laughing harder than me. So I just laughed all the way through the presentation. She looked at us like we were on fire or something and shut the door.

Did Jesus Use Gods Personal Name?

i looked it up a few weeks ago and they said "we can be sure he used his fathers name".
for me the argument is more just interesting from a biblical and academic stand point.

Right, and the bible says all the things that Jesus did to make them mad. Healing on sabbath, calling them names, etc. But, never says he used Gods name. I would imagine if he did something that shocking it would be mentioned in the bible...
