I like this site one can pick and choose what I want to engage in. I choose not to engage in politics, religion, doctrines and the bible.
I like to hear others history who have moved on from the org. I am into fluff. I don't know how human lives and their history is called fluff. Being on this site for a short time has open doors for my self and aided my healing process. We all have a story. Who knows how our stories affect others and may open doors for them in their process.

How do I feel regarding homosexuality? Pretty impressive that their are 1,532 people who have viewed this post. Says alot.
How do I feel? I feel at home with myself today. Its a long process to figure out who you are. For me grateful for support from a gay and lesbian therapist. I owe alot to the Gay therapist he opened the door for me in terms of my sexuality.
I had this dream of being raped by a women. Shared in a session with him. He asked me if I'm am a lesbian? I did'nt answer him . Thinking to myself how dare he ask me that question!!!!! Well the universe has a way of presenting answers. Ran into a woman who was a roommate. She came out to me . I opened up to her and asked thousands of questions. My whole life fell into place with my feellings over the years. I went back to the therapist before me sharing. I asked him if he was gay? Because my plate was full with custody, divorce and dealing with domestic violence. I needed assurance that what I shared did'nt go out of the room. My fear of husband and jw's taking my children away. And that never became as issue!!!!
There is a process in coming out. The first 39 years of my life I always felt like this round peg trying to fit in a square hole. I had no idea what was going on and yet I would be attracted to females and not being able to put a name on it. Of course I never express my feelilngs.
I went through a grieving process with my sexuality, marriage, the org. and divorce. The lists continues! I had support over time with coming out and lesbian Moms support groups.
I don't feel that my sexuality is a lifestyle. My lifestyle is that I live in a lower end of middle income. I rent as apt. A 15 yr old cat. I live in a blue collar neighborhood . I have close friends of all walks of life. I am a spiritual artist. And the list goes on.
And yes I have dealt with homophobia over time. Especially in my work place. I'll call a spade when I need too. I am out to those I am close to in ER. And dealing with hate crimes regarding 2 gay men who were murdered in the past 2 years. and attended their furnerals. Its sad that kind of mentality exists.
I just want to say out of 1532 people who have viewed this post. Is that some are not a place to share about their sexuality because of fear of whatever??? And its okay. I support you in taking care of yourself. I am in aplace to paved the way for others. my sense their is a hand full or more who are out on this forum.
I'll be glad to answer questions. Providing I have answers.
I am grateful to be connected to this forum and their are wonderful people I've met.

Do You Like To Gamble?
by minimus inone of the sins that a jehovah's witness can get disfellowshipped for is gambling.
those that occasionally gamble, even for pennies, are considered "greedy ones".
of course, playing the stock market or futures is not considered gambling these are "investments".personally, i enjoy a little gambling.

Not long after being out the org. took a week-end trip. The same week-end of my daughters wedding. Which I was not invited. Painful time. So I stopped in the Native American casino on Lake Superior. Wanted to break a jw rule. I put 5 bucks in machine and walked out and the sky did not fall!! I take great pleasure in breaking rules!!!!!!!!
I enjoy gambling with in certain limits.

How Long Does Grief Last?
by Englishman inlast week i was very taken aback to see a recently bereaved (4 months) friend of ours walking along the high street with his arms around a ladyfriend.
i knew how devastated he had been at his wife's death, so it gave me quite a start to see him with someone else.
i then told myself it was none of my business, quit judging sunshine, get on with your own life.. i couldn't shake the image out my mind however, so i discussed it at length with her ladyship to get her thoughts on the matter.

Englishman sorry for the loss. In society for the most part grieving is not honored on any level. The mentality is when experiencing a death. One seems to be allowed 3 days to grieve. And life goes back to normal.
From my experiences with grief comes in many layers. Kinda liken to an onion. Theirs an onion for each loss II've experienced over time.
My experienced with treatment for alcohol and drugs opened the pandora's box to feelings. Its was overwhelming feeling to acknowledge the losses. To grief loss of innocense, what I thought was family, friendships, physical deaths, divorce, religion, my drug of choice Beer(She was my best friend). The loss of my sexuality, children leaving home, cult shunning , loss of love and the list goes on and on.
There is no right or wrong way to grieving. I work with death everyday in my job and feelings are expressed in so many ways and depending on the culture. Being respectful to their process.
For me to deal with losses of the first 40 years of life I acknowledge each loss and to put this marker on my path and honor it. And may go back many times to honor it. What I do know about myself is I can easily detact from my feelings. I have strong connection to Crows and when 3 crows show their phyical presence is to remind me of a death. Not in physical form but in a emotional form. And sometimes I am not happy to see them. But for me to acknowledge the loss and feel the feelings. I am grateful for their presences.
What you shared at the ending asking questions. how he feels right now opens the door for him to make the choice in sharing.

Yes I have therapy and continue to do so. I went through outpatient treatment for alcholism and chemical. Addicted to sinus decongest meds and laxative's. Had hell of an experience. It was my therapist that confronted me with my use. I fortunately grap ahold and face my addictions. The reason why because she cared. My children went through family treatment for alcoholism. Involved with many support groups. rape survivor , incest, Women For Sobriety program, Lesbian Mothers group and parenting groups.
They were life preservers over the years. I would'nt have survived and dealing with issue regard org.
Its a plus having a good therapist. I educated her regarding JW's.
I strongly encourage others to take care of themselves and utilize these support systems.
I am grateful for sitting here and to be able to post.

Brandi,
You are not alone. I admire your strength and courage for breaking the SILENCE. My children and I are survivors of abuse. Glad to have you aboard. I am sorry you had to experience abuse and you did'nt deserve it.
I hope you are getting support around these issues from others.
