I hope they don't change it, because I don't want the Government telling private institutions what to do. I t could have far reaching implications, giving the government more power than I wish them to have. I do wish the Gb would change their policy though. I still think the df'ing thing stinks.

at least on the surface, they will not admit that everything is not perfect.
maybe deep inside they have some doubts about certain things, but their pride will not allow them to ever change, it seems.

The Societies, and the average jw's, greatest defense mechanism right now appears to be that the "Faithful Slave" speaks directly from God himself. So ANYTHING the slave says or does is okay. Example: How can you win when you ask a faithful dub...'Why would the watchtower join the UN for ten years when in their own publications it has been blasted so often for being a "deplorable" worldly entity, destined to be one of the chief vehicles Satan will use to war against God's servants? ANSWER FROM DUB: "There must be some GOOD reason for it. Obviously it HAS TO BE Jehovah's will, or the Society would'nt have done it, I'm sure they'll put out an article about it sometime". The preceding example actually happened to me, talking to a family member. After I had presented some exhaustive examples of Society flip flops, and errors to this family member, from the Societies own publications, the response I received was "SO WHAT"?. How do you respond to that? See, this is what I'm talking about, sometimes you just can't win. If this is the reasoning of the majority of the rank and file witnesses, and the leaders, then we really have an uphill battle. Someone reassure me our work is not all in vein.

Brother Can't use the bathroom at home: This brother consistently goes number 2 in the KH restroom, and grunts and groans like he's giving birth to a baby. He is very overweight, and wears bad suits, and the bathroom smells terrible after he's done. Then he walks back to his seat with a guilty look on his face.

Should "Apostates" Shudder?
by Oroborus21 ini was reviewing the study articles in the may 15, 2003 watchtower.. the first article: "christ speaks to the congregations" is rather hard hitting against (so-called) apostasy and sectarianism.
the conclusion of paragraph 6 says:.
"to maintain the purity of jehovah's worship and to protect the congregation, therefore, they (true christians) do not extend the hand of fellowship to unrepentant apostates.".

Assembly fun....Final notes.
by integ ina couple of things i forgot to mention... -it would not be "wise" to have open bars at witness wedding receptions.. -dating non-witnesses like going to the morgue to find a mate.
(this was mentioned at the latest circuit assembly as well).. -there are "deplorable conditions" in christendom...not in jah's org.. -we reflect the glory of god by preaching.. -(this is a doosy, and an actual statement made by the speaker)..just as jesus was hated by the world, but was perfect, so too is jehovahs' organization.

I don't recall ANY mention of the dis-fellowshipping issue, or any new date on Armageddon. But, they did mention that some of the brothers have become "impatient" and "impulsive". Maybe this is in reference to people "speculating" about the end. And a reminder to keep waiting for it. Keep busy in the preaching work was of course the basic "jist" of the convention. (as it always is).

-3:05 Sat. "Be liberal, ready to share". It was brought out that we should give to Jehovah "our valuable things"....This not only includes our TIME, but also our material things. We were reminded that we can sign over our wills and create living trusts, and also deed any property we have to the Society, if we should pass on before the end of the system.
-4:10 Sat. "Glorify God with one mouth." We must not try to come up with our own thoughts on matters...Follow the direction of the Slave etc. etc.
-4:30 Sat. "Our children...A precious inheritance"- Raise your children in the "Truth" etc. ( i was getting a little tired at this point, so i can't really expound on this one, sorry).
-Sunday morning was basically devoted to standard watchtower fare on raising families to be preachers, go to bethel, preach the good news "without letup","muster up boldness", etc.
-11:10 Sun. DRAMA "Boldly witnessing despite opposition" Full costume drama (it used to be kind of cool when they would turn off the lights for the drama, they don't anymore). Something about kids preaching in school, adults preaching at work, etc. Compared to the apostles refusing to stop preaching at the behest of the Sanhedrin in bible times.
-2:00 Sun. PUBLIC DISCOURSE.."Who are giving God glory today?" Guess what the answer is?.....(do i even have to say?). The world's religions were referred to as "Christendumb". Which elicited some laughter from the audience. ( And was in bad taste i might add, seeing as this was the MAIN talk of the convention, intended to appeal to bible studies that may have been invited, as well as the rank and file).
-The remainder of the day was spent exhorting the hapless delegates to do more in the ministry. Followed by a song "of praise" and a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG prayer. Followed by the obligatory applause.
I do indeed hope you enjoyed this synopsis of the convention, and feel "spiritually nourished"

4) INTERNET: EXTREME CAUTION SHOULD BE USED.
BEWARE OF APOSTATE WEBSITES- Attendees admonished to avoid this "snare of satan" and "shun badness". Speaker makes statement "There are even web site "chat forums" , filled with such hateful speech, and so blatantly apostate, that no doubt Jehovah himself is sickened by their lies and distortions of righteous truth". He continued.."We need to test inspired expressions, how? We do well to ask ourselves..."Is what these apostates saying different from what the Faithful and Discreet slave class say? "Jesus himself said at Acts 3:23 to listen to this Faithul Slave". "Flee from badness" Rom. 16:17. And by all means brothers.. DO NOT RETURN TO THE APOSTATES DOCTRINAL VOMIT". Some websites even offer questions to ask our brothers and sisters in service...AS IF THEY COULD STUMBLE THEM BY TWISTING WORDS AROUND, IN ORDER TO MAKE JAH'S ORG. APPEAR TO BE OUT OF STEP WITH THE TRUTHFUL SAYING'S OF GOD'S WORD.
5) MEDIA: Do not listen to the "FALSE STORIES" being presented as of late in the media. "many of our brothers have been stumbled by the these FALSE STORIES reports from apostates attempting to manipulate the media against Jehovah's organization. "Keep your senses".

More assembly fun......
by integ inmost of early friday morning was standard watchtower fare...you know, "wear your lapel badge to restaurants and preach to waiters" etc.
but there was some good meat later in the morning during the talk "glorious prophetic visions spur us on".
one point i found interesting was that only the annointed saw christs acsension to heavenly rulership in 1914. no one else.

Most of early Friday morning was standard watchtower fare...You know, "wear your lapel badge to restaurants and preach to waiters" etc. etc. But there was some good meat later in the morning during the talk "Glorious prophetic visions spur us on". One point I found interesting was that only the annointed saw Christs acsension to heavenly rulership in 1914. No one else. This was compared to the transfiguration of Jesus. Which was only witnessed by the apostles (annointed as well of course). Also, the speaker brought out that some have been losing "The hope they had at first" by losing their focus, not being able to "grasp" the material in the watchtower mags, and "losing endurance". Fri. aft. brought us the talk "Jehovah's glory revealed to humble ones". Who are the humble ones you may ask? Why of course, it's the Governing Body...The rank and file was also informed that we are acting "impatiently, and impulsively" and that we must, in this critical time of the end, view the ones taking the lead among us, as superior. Later in another talk, the speaker noted that we should be very happy in the knowledge that we are in an organization that tells "no lies" unlike wicked christendom. Then the talk all dubs dreaded... "Avoid the snare of alcohol abuse." It was presented that any amount of alcohol that would make one feel giddy, or cause any impairment whatsoever of their mental faculties, is TOO MUCH. There's more, i'll post it on my next thread. Hope this helps those of you who did'nt have the "privialage" of attending.

assembly notes
by integ ini had the "priviliage" of attending the 3 days of the "give god glory" convention.
for those interested, i will be posting some observations.
in one of the first talks, the speaker interviewed a young one, who gave his "experience" of being on the internet and being "seduced" by the pornography so readily available there.

I'd say he was around 14 or so. I'd bet he was'nt able to pick up any babes at the assembly after that...Probably NEVER
