Good post. You are lucky you found this board so stay with it. CoC is recommended reading. The inside info says it all. Ray's story of constant internal strife and his reasonings and conclusions are powerful and withstand all scrutiny. An example of his logic: If you would be disfellowshipped today for believing and espousing the very things that supposedly were the basis of Jesus' selection of the organization in 1918 to be appointed over all his worldly things it makes one doubt that selection. (He puts it in more clear words.) Sex is just what it is. One thing you probably have thought about is that marriage does not guarantee you won't still have unwanted urges. This is how you were about baptism, not wanting to trust yourself. Marriage and perhaps, family become more important as one ages. I don't think you ever stop thinking about illicit sex completely. Thoughts just pop in there. I quit beating myself up over the WT after I found out about it and this board and CoC, Gentile Times Revisited, etc. Stick around.

The evolution of human consciousness
by changeling inwe often compare those who act violently to animals.. we do the same with those who rant and rave irrationally.. even those who do not believe in evolution do so.
they say things like: "that jeffrey dhamer was an animal", or "terrorists are animals".
could violence and irrationallity be a throw back to an earlier form or being?.

I think peace is a good goal but freedom is better. Peace can occur even in prisons or repressive regimes. These are just semantics but generally pursuit of freedom is worth breaking the peace.

moments while viewing earth from the moon.
i think some our quantum buffs might like the idea of a non-local universe as recent bell therim and quantum test done in france seems to indicate.. http://www.guba.com/watch/2000953776?duration_step=0&fields=8&filter_tiny=0&pp=5&query=488347240&sb=7&set=5&sf=0&size_step=0&o=1&sample=1187968680:23a45415c6e40777d63a4dd3c7396542f652f9f9.

Sucks. Reminds me of the books, "The Tao of Physics" and "The Dancing Wu Li Masters". This popularizer took forever to say anything. HAL 9000: "I can feel it, Dave". John Bell would be turning over in his grave.

evidence of angelic direction
by tank ini just came across this on the official watchtover web site www.watchtower.org/ .
quote.
jehovah's witnesses spend more than a billion hours annually preaching the good news of god's kingdom.

If the angels protected the girl in service why did they not prevent the auto accident that killed a prominent pioneer in my old congregation? This is for real in a southwest Ohio (USA) KH. Why did it not prevent a young man from walking in front of a semi-tractor on the highway to kill himself a few months ago? Don't fall for that crap.

Hey Paul, you left when I was just gettin' going in the religion. I fell for it for twenty years (age 22 thru 42) and left for good in 1993. Sometimes I feel like your post but most of the time I'm just thankful I got away. Not all was a waste of time in your entrenchment in the WT. There were probably many good times and perhaps some good things you absorbed into life. I should have paid more attention in the early eighties when the turmoil was going on at the headquarters. You got to see that from a better perspective. It still amazes me when reflecting on the absolute hold they had on me. You were apparently raised in it-- I wasn't and still fell for it at a very impressionable age (I dropped out of the University of Cincinnati in my fourth year of pharmacy school). I tell myself I should have known better and that's true. Yet, it shows how powerful that kind of thinking is. You are lucky you got out when you did. It sounds like you have many positive things in your life. I especially enjoy grandkids. My daughters are not in it now--both are Catholics and doing well with their families. You are not alone with your regrets and I feel it is impossible not to wonder "what if" once in a while. That is just human nature. Glad you got out. Your friend, Carlton

Fuel From a Garden Hose - Hydrogen Fuel
by BlackPearl inhas anyone here thought about the possibilities of getting all of our fuel needs from the unlimited supply of hydrogen in our water?
you see, there two parts hydrogen to every single part oxygen in h2o.
what that means is, if we can extract the hydrogen from the water, we can burn it as a fuel, just like propane or gasoline.
-

Are you kidding? What do you think water is? It is burned hydrogen. Also, water vapor is much more of a 'greenhouse gas' than CO2. Do you know what the CO2 percentage in the atmo is?

in summary, he claims that terrorism has nothing to do with iraq or foreign policy or whatever.
about religious fanaticism, pure and simple.

Absolutely, Warlock, about blaming ourselves. Yesterday on the liberal CNN was an interview with and author stating they do not hate us because of our freedom but due to British and American imperialism. What imperialism in this century? The left will be the first to go if Islamo-fascists have their way. We cannot fight a war anymore due to the weak knee'd left wing fairy cowards in the USA. To them, the Constitution is a suicide pact. The other day our Dick Durbin in the US Senate lamented the existence of talk radio, wanting to silence if with the so-called fairness doctrine. This Stalinist tactic from the mouth of the very one who called Abu Graeb (sp.) a Gulag. They make me sick.
