Where are you on the map? New Maps
by Lady Lee inok there are so many americans on the map now i had to split you all in half.. valis was kind enough to let me place the maps on his website until i found a new home for them.. photobucket seems to be a good option - at least for now.
so i have uploaded the new maps which have been updated to include everyone who has asked.. so if you were wondering where we are from.
or how close you are to other jwd posters in your area just take a look.

Either that or pretend to be a Witless and ask for the WT Lib at your local congregation.
Just don't ask for an ISO of the WT lib from one of the members here. I hear that's illegal *wink*.

Bible studets
by King Arthur inhi everybody.does anybody know about the number of modern biblestudents?.
they have several webpages but not the one official like jw's or mormon's have.. are these followers of russel somehow united or just keeping their own churches separately from the others?.
i have heard that they celebrate conventions even now and then.. what is the number of these people worldwide?.

I'm discovering the joy of....... heavy metal!!
by Leander inover the last couple of years i've been trying to experience activities and interests that would have been frowned upon when i was still a dub.one of the things that i've really developed a passion for is metal and hard rock, in particular metal really strikes a chord with me (pun intended).
i'm pretty much a big fan of almost anything metallica has done, i also dig a lot of the more recent groups like tool, a perfect cricle, sevendust, etc.. but there's still a lot of old school metal groups that i want to go back and listen to.
any suggestions on any good late 70's-80's metal bands?

Sex Is Banned During Euro 2004.
by Englishman ini just heard a big debate on bbc radio 2 concerning the french soccer team.. apparently, they're banned from having any sex during the time that they remain as contestants in the euro 2004 competition.. how embarrasing for them.
one thing is for sure though.
when england play france next sunday, no way will the england supporters engage in any mocking chants.

Keeping a Frenchman celibate is like making a sieve hold water. You'll have to seal up their holes in order for both to happen!

how many days?
by itsallgoodnow inok, so we've probably all heard before that someone out there has done a study calculating about how much time we will have spent in our lives sitting at red lights and it comes to about a year?
try calculating about how many days you have spent at circuit/district conventions in your life, assuming there were 3 for circuit every year, and 3 or 4 for district every year.
i can't remember the year it switched to from 4 down to 3. this number is bigger than you might think, especially if you were raised as a jw.

Watchtower's view on Extinct Animals
by Nosferatu inwhat was the watchtower's view on the dodo bird, the wooly mammoth, and other extinct animals?
were they going to be resurrected, or did the wt think that extinct animals were a myth?

I'm sure in the new system, we'll have all sorts of evolutionary redundant predetory animals like the saber toothed tiger and the dire wolf coming back to eat vegetation.
I'm sure a set of chompers like these could really be useful in eating lettuce!

The JW Name
by Purza ini was talking to my boyfriend last night and i mentioned something about the jw's adopting the name "jw" in 1935.
(that surprised him) please keep in mind i have been inactive for 2 years and i never really cared before that, so my memory is a bit rusty.
he asked when they began and i said sometime in the late 1800s.

Just by curiosity, I went to the meeting today
by JH insince being inactive for so many years, i occasionally showed up at the hall, just to understand why i wasn't able to go again.
since joining this forum, i went only 2 or 3 times, each time with the same conclusion.
i just can't do it anymore...even before joining this board, i lost the desire to go there.

You're wrong, things do change in Jehovah's organization led by his celestial chariot! 15 years ago, we knew that the end would come before the 20'th century was over!

They posted my rebuttal!
Although they didn't get my name right, I'm glad to see it's posted there.I've noticed the people that bashed your article either claim you have a lack of faith or claim that you're a disgruntled ex member with an agenda. None of them really debunk your claim.
As for another JW translation anomaly
Ex.3:14-15 reads, "And Elohim (Another name for God) said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and
That's how it's written in most bibles, yet in the JW bible, it's translated as "I shall prove to be as I shall prove to be".
Maybe it's because Jesus later said "
Before Abraham Was,
I AM" (Jn.8:58)"
In the JW bible, it's translated as "Before Abrhama was, I was", to something in that vein (I don't have the JW bible set before me.)
No reputable Bible translates "I AM" in any other way, except for bibles translated by Neo-Adventist Non-Trinitarians like the Church of God and other whackjob religions. (And guess who's the biggest Neo-Adventist Non Trinitarian church?)
