  Instead of going to a convention this year and wasting money on GARBAGE, I'm taking my daughters to an indoor water park and snow tubing. I'm spending less money but having way more fun doing important things. Oh, and we're celebrating my daughter's birthday that weekend. Yup.

  When i was studying with jws, I thought the Matrix fit the way they paint the world. i saw it again recently, and even tho I'm out, the 'truth' is still Neo and the gang, and the Matrix is the world. I don't see it fitting the other way around. I know, I know... I do believe I'm deprogrammed, tho .... lol

  District Assemblies and Circuit Assemblies getting farther away from home

  20 years ago the da's were in dodger stadium, 10-15 minute drive from home (east part of san fernando valley, los angeles area).

  then moved to long beach, 45 minute drive.

  now in 2014 they are moving to san diego, 2 1/2 hr drive.

  We've travelled 4 hours to get to an assembly in the past. So happy I'm out! No more ridiculous trips to places I could care less tp visit to hear demeaning, demoralizing, and dreadful talks.

  JW Prayer vs. Christian Prayer

  we studied for a few years with the jw's.

  the public prayers were often an endurance test, while holding exhausted babies.

  to be honest, i have forgotten the jist of most of their prayers.

  Idk why so many here see prayer as a cop out. It doesn't have to be. I appreciate hearing those words bc to me they communicate that the person cares about me and my well-being. I see it as sending good vibes out to the universe. Why not do this? Bc of superstition, you say? Please! Not everything needs to be black and white. Let ppl feel and share. That, to me, is one of the important functions of prayer.

  saw one of the sisters in my ex-kh having a study with a young girl (say 17 or so).

  i think they were looking at the "draw close to weasel head book.

  I was a convert, and I took it all very seriously, all the way up to the day I was df'd in February and beyond. July was my last meeting, and that was with the help of this site. It is true, converts are indeed more zealous than born-ins. It just matters to us too much! It will be some time, unfortunately, before your sister comes back to you. I'm sorry :-( :-( :-(
