My Disfellowshipped Window Washer Is Going Back To Meetings Because Of The
by minimus inwar....he said bible prophecies are obviously being fulfilled and since war is imminent, it's time to get back into the "truth".
he went to his first meeting last sunday.
now, all he says he has to do is stop smoking, stop his pornography addiction, stop going out with prostitutes, start reading and researching more, and evidently, he has stopped engaging in homosexuality.

What bothers/worries you most about the war ?
by m0nk3y inthere seems to be quite a few concerned people out the regarding this war in iraq and for good reason.
so what exaclty is bothering you about it, does it involve the very real fact that alot of innocent blood could/will be shed ?
are you fearing this could all be a part of bible/wts prophecy ?

I agree with you brum, but I don't envy their duty, it totally sucks, on one hands they have to do somthing, but on the other hand what about all those innocent lives and because of men like Sadam the middle ground has been cut out almost all together

Why do some of you get so worked up over this, JW's control relies on lack
by Its so simple inpersonal growth.
most people are angry at themselves for not seeing it sooner and they just blame the wtbs.
if it was not them there would be something else that 'filled their need' and would have ensnared them.

Your forgetting about those like myself that were brought up as a JW from birth, we had been fully programed with nothing else seeming as we were not allowed to have contact with others or know any different. Not until I was of a decent age did I realise the cracks in the surface and by that time I was already pretty fucked up. Even now that I am out of their control I still have a entire lifes worth of programming to get rid of, it's not just a simple matter of oh well I know its crap now I'll throw away everything I have done for 90% of my life and start from scratch.
And what about those JW kids that have been abused sexually, mentally, physically and emtionally ... yeah sure they have the strength to stand up against those people in their life that causing them hell on earth, they simply don't have it in them to get out of that situation like they wish they could.
Your obviously talking from a very limited veiwpoint and I can clearly see you don't have alot of 'real' life experience as far as this issue is concerned

The UN and armageddon

i spoke to my aunt the other day who has been out of the borg for about 20 years now.
she told me that she is really worried about world events and feels that this is it now, the un is going to crumble and then armageddon is going to come.

I really wouldnt be concerned dude, and tell your aunt to stop selling her stuff and spending up big unless she wants to die poor and of hungry instead of old age as it should be.
The prophecies that the WTS have written about for like 100 years have never come true so what makes you think that they will all of a sudden be right ? And they do say that the UN will turn and put a stop to false religion (which if you think about it most of the countries that make up the UN are from highly religious countries, they arnt going to stamp themselves out) and then turn on the Witnesses and then the UN will be stamped out by the governments and cry over it and blah blah blah blah blah end will come ... It aint coming !!
