GAY WOMEN

please bear with me on this as this is a genuine attempt by me at greater understanding.. recently, a young woman i know has come out and stated that she is gay.

this is the second time i have been shocked - yes shocked!

- because neither woman fit what i used to consider was the "typical" gay woman profile (i am not using the word lesbian in case it causes offence).

I just loved your reply. Thank you so very much! It was extremely brave of you and I honestly believe you have helped more people than you possibly realise here - some just wanting to know about lesbianism, and lesbians themselves that are a little wary of coming out. They'll now realise they can really live a full life instead of trying to hide their preference. However, I am not stupid to realise that for others here it would not be favourable for them to come out for fear of alienating family/friends.

Megan back in Hospital

she's gone back into the hospital again, complaining of her symptoms worsening (they said get in if that happens) so a long couple of days turns into what is going to be a nightmare week, hopefully she gets out tomorrow.

i'm alright but things are difficult without real support.

megans mum is a clown, megans stupid brother tried messing with meg's mums head by asking if she was sure if i didnt push megan off the ladders (good job he lives in ireland) - then she has the cheek to tell me today he asked after megan, who hates him for the abuse she suffered (sexual unfortunately) when she was just 12 and he was 18. my mum and stepdad are being as helpful as they can, but when your alone at night with a crying baby and your stressed out about everything from moving, megans health, your own and financial situation it does make you realise just what the wife/mum has to manage.

Heck, Karl, that's news none of us wanted to hear! I was actually wondering how you'd be coping with Noah.

You've received some excellent advice here so don't be a martyr. ASK for help from LOVING friends, family and organisations around you. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm recovering from my illness and still very weak I'd have you and your baby round here. I know from experience what it's like to be left 'holding the baby'. When Claire went back to work after having Karl, my older son, I had to look after both him and Stephanie. Both were in nappies and it was like caring for twins. I coped, but was ALWAYS relieved when Claire got in from work

Hang in there. It DOES get better and you and Megan can get on with your lives together with Noah.

Love to Megan for a fast and permanent recovery.

if the exile wasn't to be 70 years, how is jeremiah 29:10 explained by pro-587 folks?.

also, if it truly was a 70-year period of servitude, and not exile, when was this 70 years served by other nations?.

I've pointed out here in the past that archaeological evidence indicates that while the Babylonians depopulated most of the cities in Judah to varying degrees, they left the more rural Benjamin region intact and cultures continued there without interruption, especially in the towns of Gibeon, Gibeah, Bethel, and Mizpah (the administrative center). This was probably because Benjamin was a major olive oil producing center and was thus an economic asset to Babylon. Wine was also a major commodity. The "Mozah" stamps on jars primarily found in Mizpah (70% of Mozah impressions) and elsewhere in Benjamin is one piece of evidence indicating the continued agricultural production during the period, and noteworthy too is an ostracon from Mizpah bearing a Babylonian name (Mar-sharri-usur) written in Hebrew letters. The biblical account relates how Mizpah was designated as the capital of the Neo-Babylonian province but the account ends abruptly with the assassination of Gedaliah and it does not mention Mizpah again until the time of Nehemiah, so it does not relate what happened in the time in between, i.e. how long Johanan and his fellow Jews stayed in Egypt, whether Jeremiah died there, and what was happening in Judah after Johanan and his group left it, tho ch. 44 of Jeremiah implies that there would have been Jews returning to Judah after Johanan's flight.

Wouldn't the above contradict both Josephus and the Bible's account that the entire region of both Northern and Southern kingdoms
were a desolate waste for 70 years with no harvests? The excavation of Ashkelon shows a confirmed destruction by the Babylonians ending
in the Persian Period, which was estimated by archaeologists to be 70-80 years long.

On the evidence used to claim that Mizpah was still occupied, but with the entire region basically desolate, who were they going to
trade with? Even Tyre was destroyed but would have had few people to trade with. If Babylon's policy was to gradually depopulate the
entire region, it doesn't seem consistent that they would maintain an isolated post.

Further, Josephus specifically indicates those remaining Jews from Egypt were deported to Babylon in year 23. That does not conflict
with Jer. 44:14,28 which notes those "left remaining from the sword" would return to Judea, apparently for a brief stay the same year on
their way to Babylon. Jer. 53:30 records the last deportation in year 23 of Nebuchadnezzar. The archaeological challenge is to prove there was not a 70-year gap in the occupation of this town, a town that might have simply been abandoned (not destroyed, like Jerusalem or Ashkelon) and then reinhabited. Further, this seems to be a primary site for pottery - so who knows if lots of premade pottery from this site from earlier periods were then used in later periods after an interruption? So some of this could be a matter of interpretation of the artifacts which are still flexible enough to accommodate the the 70-year historical gap noted in the Bible.

Wow, an old thread of mine has been resurrected!!

((((((((Ann)))))))), WELCOME! And thanks for posting so candidily.

Thank you to all the latest posters.

Now, I have a confession. The reason I started the thread is because the second woman I spoke about in my first post is.................my daughter! Yes, Stephanie is gay and hid it extremely well all her years. She has had a conflict in her head because she was also dedicated to Jehovah and genuinely believed she had to rid herself of her feelings. That's why she never joined Claire and I when we exited. Stephanie thought we had gone against God!!

Now, she could no longer suppress her feelings and she is in a steady relationship with another girl. Stephanie posts here under the name 'faundy'. She has been living back home for some time now and we are building a better relationship. It has been difficult for her but I am extremely proud of her. I am also more understanding of homosexual behaviour.

Why aren't all of the Annointed at Bethel?

this really bothers me.

i've been reading up latelty alot about the gb and it's relationship to or lack there -in of the annointed.

jesus' spirit begotten followers, here on earth, the citizens of the new jerusalem, make up the faithful and discreet slave, correct?

You are right and it's something I've often thought over the years - as have many others. According to scripture as interpreted by the JWs there should be 144,000 EQUALS all going to heaven. Nowhere is there supposed to be an elite governing body that oversees the others of the 144,000. In fact, if you read Ray Franz's books he states that those of the 144,000 outside of Bethel were treated just like those of the earthly class.

Also in direct contradiction to the GB is the fact the the WHOLE of the 144,000 are supposed to dispense spiritual food and not just an elite group. We had an old lady in my old cong who considered herself one of the anointed - but she never once distributed spiritual food to the rest of us and, just like the rest of us, took her orders from the elders. How can that be right?!

The truth of the matter, as we all know, is that it's all a money-making scam.

also their loved ones and caregivers.. - has been fighting mantle cell lymphoma for three years.

he received an allogeneic cell transplant and his latest blood and bone marrow results have shown no trace of cancer!!

A BIG THANKS to EVERYONE who participated in the vigil.

I was at the hospital this morning and received some terrific news. The virus is diminishing so fast now that once my medication is finished - just a few tablets left - I don't have to renew it! I'll still be on antibiotics and an anti-fungal but the amount of tablets has been reduced drastically - although it has taken months to get here!

I was seen to VERY quickly this morning. As soon as I walked in the door, in fact!

The GB has a lot to answer for

the governing body of jehovahs witnesses has a lot to answer for, including:.

the unnecessary deaths of thousands of its adherents.

each death has a multiplying effect on each loved one.the destruction of countless families, since the organization demands allegiance to the men in brooklyn above allegiance to parent or child.the proliferation of mental illness, which is from 3 to 40 times the norm of the general society.regarding the latter point, it is not surprising to see delusive manifestations, as with jcanon.
