I have the perfect solution to this 'problem'. Go to the ...beach or community pool...or Bush Gardens instead! Your children will love you for it. And they will praise God, and you, all the way home! Maverick

i'm interested in finding out if anyone here who is an ex-dub has taken or still takes prescription anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medication to deal with feelings of inadequacy and inexperience with life outside of the wts, relationship problems, stress/anger, low self-esteem, etc.. i still suffer with self-esteem/image problems as well as stress with life in general after leaving the wts.
i often feel alone and inexperienced when dealing with life's problems, and often find it difficult to handle conflict/disagreements with loved ones when they arise.
i feel these occurrences are a personal attack on myself.. i just started attending counseling to deal with these problems, and it was mentioned that an anti-depressant may help.
Like Big tex, I felt better almost immediately after leaving that mess! Once I came to terms with the exit phobias and mind control programs running in the back of my mind like little sleeper viruses everything started to fall into place. I was an adult when I came under the influence so it was easier on me than for those poor souls raised by Duds. Not to diminish or over simplify but I honestly believe when a basically normal person is not being true to his or her nature as a person, they will be unhappy. For me it was changing what that little voice we each have inside was telling me. Don't let that voice beat you up. Don't tell yourself, "Your worthless, nobody loves you, or your no good!" Don't talk to yourself in a way you would never talk to anyone else. Or let anyone else talk to you. (Disclaimer) This in no way applies to clinical depression. Note: I said "normal people". Maverick

the older i get the more i believe that being single is the way to go.there are so many advantages.just to name a few;.
you can finish that college degree, go to the neighborhood bar anytime, do charity work, join a night class, stay out all night, flirt with anybody you please.
I was single and lived on my own until I was 28, then was married six weeks short of 15 years. Now I have been single for five years. I feel qualified to offer my opinion. Blondie has it right. Happy is inside not outside. We tell ourselves what will make us happy. At this time I'm happy with my traveling lifestyle. This may change in the future. I may meet someone I really want to be with all the time. As a young man the women had all the power in relationships. Now the older ladies see their options are limited. The competition from the young ladies, their choices in men, the realization that the number of times they are going to get laid in finite hits them. Now I'm in the driver seat. i have read alot on this site for a while and just have been absorbing it as i make my way.. one thing i noticed was alot said about abuse of children... i experienced the reverse...false stories told..believed by elders because of hidden agenda and 20+ years as special pioneers ..etc.
as of no count and belief in a new publisher destroyed our lives and children's lives.
the horror never stops ...some of our family is disassociated...some disfellowshipped...some inactive...some active..some on a fence...mostly because of one or two elders and the misapplication of their power and lack of love to our family.
Welcome! As a single father of an only-child, (female) I was always careful how I conducted myself around her and her friends. It would have been horrible to be accused of any misconduct in this regard. The very thought sends chills! Please keep us informed on how things are progressing. Maverick

(actually, i susupect it's a sort of snobbery so that people will know that it's not just another old house full of flats and bedsits but a privately owned whole house).

i'm inactive since many years and i met an elder yesterday while i was driving in the city.
i made my stop, and an elder passed in front of me driving very slowly and made a very sad and disapproved face.
although it lasted about 3 seconds, i could feel exactly what he was thinking.. i felt as if i was a very bad boy not wanting to play knock knock on doors with them anymore.. for the inactive ones, do you often get that kind of disapproved look?.
Who is this person that you have given him so much power over you? He looks at you and projects his disapproval and you absorb it and let it eat at you?
