I'm guessing this is a lie.....
by Myxomatosis ini need some input on this...this is from another mb i'm a member, and it is a discussion about salvation between a born-again jew, and a jehovah's witness.
the jehovah's witness i believe is being utterly deceptive about what is actually taught in the watchtower publications and kingdom halls, or is secondary to that of being a member of 'jehovah's organization' what do y'all think?
do you think this would fly if he were say on a mb simply of jehovah's witnesses or the kingdom hall?

God Helps Everyone?
by ClassAvenger ini talked with a jehovah witness and he told me that god only helped those who obeyed him, that it said somewhere in the bible.
the discussion came when i told him about soldiers asking god for help.
he said that god wouldn't listent to them because the soldiers knew they were sinning by killing and they kept on doing it.

JW doctrine..
by Brummie ini cant think of any of their doctrines that could be supported if they didnt deliberately alter the scriptures.
even their teaching of god creating the earth is flawed when one considers what they believe about god.. of the top of my head i cant think of anything that i still believe that was taught me by the watchtower...can you?.

How would a JW respond to this question?
by Oxnard Hamster inbefore i met my first jw after going off to college, i came from a town of about 3,000 people.
the town is primarily various protestant denominations, catholic, and mormon, but certainly no jws.
as a matter of fact, i hung out with people who had friends of varying religions and denominations, but i never heard anything about a jw.

Hell
by onacruse ini was recently asked about my opinion re: hell.. as a born-and-raised jw i obviously never believed in hell-fire torment.
actually, i refuse to believe in such a thing.
for many years my favorite response to the idea was "i would rather burn in hell than worship a god who would create such a place.".

Matthew 24:36
by ClassAvenger ini need someone to explain to me matthew 24:36, preferably people who support the trinity.
it states that no one knows the second coming of jesus, not even the angels, just the father.
my question is, how can jesus not know his second coming if he is part of the trinity, or part of god?

Fully Gifted Creation, No God of Gaps
by D wiltshire inim leaning more and more towards a fully gifted creation.
i think god is so wise that when he first began "this" universe that he endowed it with tremendous organization potentiality, that would not require him to step in and guide it or help it along to produce intelligent life.. look at how scientist tell us all the elements are made in the stars, though nuclear fusion suns not only give us light and heat but also produce more complicated elements.
physicists tell us of wonderful self organization on the atomic and subatomic level.

Doubting the Trinity and Paradise
by ClassAvenger ini don't doubt the trinity, but again i had a talk with one of my jw friends and he gave me several bible passages which he wants me to explain, most deal with the trinity, and others deal with the belief in heaven.
he says that they show that jesus was less than his father, and was a separate person, and the others state that paradise will be here on earth.
argument: how come no one has seen god, not even jesus?
