Do You Think We Are Helping Witnesses Get Out Thru This Forum?
by minimus ini am curious , especially since we have so many new ones here, as to how many actually left the organization because of this board or others similar to it.
i certainly would hope that we are making a dent in the jw organization by what we do here......,

speaking of blood, i just talked to my mom and she said...
by dh ini talked to my mom on the phone the other day she is a jw, she knows full well what i think of the jw garbage, and i have tried to make her see it, but it's not use, so i don't go on about it much, aside from the occasional comment to see what the reaction will, in good humour of course... anyway, the other day i was struggling to think of topics we could talk about (typical son/mother relationship) so in my usual amused way i asked what she thought about the new view the society had on blood parts... i was expecting something but i didn't know what.... anyway, my mom calmly as if nothing was amiss, told me that it hasn't changed really, and that 'it doesn't matter anyway, because blood was always a conscience matter' now i love my mom, but this blew me away, i know of, and she knows people who have died because of blood, and she would still probably do it, but more to the point, haven't people been df'd for having blood transfusions?
good grief, if blood is a conscience matter and always was, why the hell so many people die and whose conscience lets their kid die?.
pffffffffff

After JW, do you hunger for all the things you didnt do..simple things
by LyinEyes inbeing raised a jw, i honestly did not know what a great big world we live in.
all the places i never went to see, things i wanted to do,,,, because i figured , i will just do that when the new world gets here.
there was always going to be forever to do all the things that make life interesting.. i settled for the here and now as a good jw, meetings, field service, studying the same material over and over in the wt publications, and that was my life.

Something strange when searching the 2001 WT CD regarding the UN
by Mantis ini was checking out the 98 awake 11/22 3-5 and noticed that if i search on "united nations" this article doesn't come up in the search results - i thought that was kind of weird so i searched for "eleanor roosevelt" (which is mentioned in this article) and the 98 awake article did come up.
seems kind of weird that this is the article that was submitted to the dpi and thats is not coming up in the search.
any comments??.

What if JWs had never been part of your life......?
by Scully inprisca's topic about personal responsibility vs blaming the jws (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/56286/824979/post.ashx#824979) got me to thinking..... where do you think you'd be if the jws and the wts had never been part of your life?how would your life be different from what it is now?what do you think you might have accomplished or done differently without the encumberances of the jws in your life?what kind of relationship would you have with your family?who would you be?.
there are no right or wrong answers, but think about those what-i-want-to-be-when-i-grow-up ideas you had as children and whether those dreams could have become a reality.. .
love, scully

My first "Wordly" Funeral...
by confuzcious inhey guys, .
i just attended my first "worldly" funeral since i've been out of "the truth" tm.. anyways, i thought it was nicely done.
it gave honor to the deceased, it drew me closer to jesus and it evoked emotions within me.. i'm just contrasting this to the jw funerals which always seems like way to peddle products rather than honor the dead.. no thoughts in particular for me, but anyone have any similar thoughts???.

What works for me?
by Anne ini remembered something that was in my consiousness from back in the day.
i went to the door of a very nice home and was greeted by a nice person.
i presented the usual rehearsed salespitch and she said the oddest thing, "i tried jehovah's witness once, it just didn't work for me.
