Today my wife went to the arsembly and i had to work. My brother took me and picked me up. Today at work i felt overwhelmed and hoped and prayed for an opportunity to come up so i could vent. On the ride home my brother asked how i was. Welp, out spilled the beans. I told him how i hav doubts and now i know dirty secrets of the WT and how its a cult. He said "honestly, i have been worried about you for some time". He then explained to me how he felt i was kind of shunning the family for a bit and then he said something that confirmed all ive learned from steve Hassans book. I asked him if id been different. He told me that it was like, when i first started studying my personality changed and i wasnt me anymore. He told me that i would kind of turn on and off...and when my wife and i were away from the WT or if i was over alone i was my old self. He said he wanted to talk to me for so long but did not havr it in him to upset my faith and beliefs. I was shocked really. He told me no matter what hes there for me and that i hvve a long road to pull my wife out. Oh and hes "worldly". We then discussed his beliefs and how he believes there is a god but that humans have the inordinate ability to control others, utilizing God as his source. I agreed. It was a good day all in all. Then i got the text from my wife that i missed some great counsel at todays assembly. My stomach turned.

The GENERATION explanation is now a BOLD FACE LIE
by scotoma inwhen i first heard about the new "generation" explanation i was confused because i didn't see clearly how they were explaining it.. now it looks like they finally figured it out for themselves and it is no longer confusing.. it is now a simple, ignorant, bold face lie.. this is from the january 1st watchtower.
(and i hope to hell someone from writing gets wind of this).
paragraph 15 page 31 blue stands for the exact words in the watchtower.

Im not sure. But thats really going to piss off a lot of peope who withheld having kids and marriage till after the res...how much more deplorable it is that th WT withholds or encourages to withold such things now.

A one sentence reply that could jolt a JW
by HBH inmy mind was wandering last night, and i though of this as a reply to a jw.. "oh, your the people who believe 8 men in brooklyn, ny are directing the world's only true religion.".
the sentence is a fact that they can't deny, but clearly shows delusion.
any other one sentence "stingers"?.

Are JW's brainwashed?
by snare&racket ini know as a jw i concluded several times that i was not brainwashed as i was not some unautonimous zombie and had not experienced anything akin to.... .
but in reality, brainwashing is a control of thought and ideas over a person and changing the way they think.
in normal life such sentences are not used, in fact they are highly discouraged... .

Actually brainwashing is ugually done under coersion....what WT does is mind control first to reform thoughts, build relationships and indctrination and THEN the brainwashing is done by scaring you with armageddon, satan, etc. so brainwashing is not the same as mind control but the two are generally used together.
