Oh well.....If JWs are willing to put up with these idiotic rules it's their own damn fault that they lead drab, pitiful lives. The best response to these types of comments by the Elders is to just look at them and say 'Are you insane???'. Then just walk away. Better yet, leave and never go back.

New requirement to become an Elder or Ministerial Servant!

he said that the c/o told them this new requirement.. "men that wanna be an elder or ministerial servant has to go out to field service on sundays.
if there is an elder or ministerial servant that is not going out to field service on sunday can lose the priviledge".

Almost all Witnesses long for the Day of Jehovah when he will slaughter billions of human beings painfully.....including the elderly, handicapped, and newborns. Just that mindset alone makes them weirdos.....actually Nazis in my opinion. Their eager anticipation of mass slaughter makes Hitler look like a light-weight. Any sane JW would get out immediately rather than be associated with such monsters.

i recall one elders wife (she looked fantastic by the way) with a very tight form fitting dress that would have showed a birth mark, let alone a panty line.

I need help

i have my best friend who is having bible study in her home with 2 witnesses, and she is soaking it in.
she is very defensive and is getting more and more closed off.

Tell her to ask those conducting her study: 'Is it true that Jehovah will annihilate billions of innocent human beings, including newborns, at Armageddon simply because they aren't members of the JW religion??'. Tell her not to accept it if they cherry-pick unrelated Bible verses to explain it. Just ask them to give a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer to the question, in their OWN words!! If that doesn't get her to start questioning, nothing will. Best of luck in getting your friend to see the light before it's too late. Oh, and tell her that most likely the Witnesses will NOT give her a simple yes or no answer...they will try to change the subject or use Bible verses to obscure the question that was asked. They are NOT ALLOWED to simply answer that question truthfully in their own words.

The Adam & Eve story is a myth created by primitive people to explain the existence of humans. Just like the Noah's Flood story helped explain how disobedient people are punished by 'God.,. It's all mythology. Who exactly was present at these events taking notes on what was said word for word?? Makes no sense at all.

Back around 2005 or 2006 the theme of the District Convention was 'Deliverance at Hand'. A JW I knew at the time told me that and then commented: 'What does the Governing Body know that we don't???'. Well, it's now 2014 and 'deliverance' still hasn't occurred. Nor will it. I think the Governing Body just dreams these predictions up in order to keep the rank & file members buzzing with anticipation. Of course the average Witness falls for it every time.

new neighbors

they are an older couple.
they are very nice and even brought us cookies.. in conversation they brought up that they were mormons and mentioned how much they loved it.

If the subject of religion comes up during the meal, just say: 'We prefer to keep our spiritual beliefs a private matter. We woukd rather not discuss it here.'. That should get the point across. If they persist, just repeat it.

Next weekend is the First Official 'Wear your colorful socks and tight pants to the Meeting' event. Hopefully to become a weekly affair. Attention, all young Teen Witnesses: FINALLY, a perfect way to REALLY irritate your JW parents,, the elders, and other boring pricks at the Kingdom Hall. Do your part by dressing in unconventional attire. Refuse to be a faceless, unappealing non-entity any longer. Older folks can also get in on the fun. Wear your loudest neckties and shortest denim dresses for the ladies. If anyone challenges you, simply say: 'Are you insane???' and then walk away.
