I hated giving the Memorial talk. It's hard to do anything but quote drivel. Deviate one inch and you're in trouble.

New GB member Judy Jedele critizing Job's "humility" while wearing $20,000 Rolex, gold cuff links, coloured suit. Incredible!
by WingCommander ini swear, you can't make this shit up!
for years and years growing up in this cult, i had to constantly hear from my parents, from the stage, in the literature, about "keeping your eye simple", not being "materialistic", not "having a showy display of one's wealth.
" of course, this never seemed to apply to the wealthy business owning elduhzzzz who ran and lorded it out over the congregations, but i digress.

When I did some extended temp work in the early 80's I got some flack from a few over my Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust and my rings. Too bad for them. If they knew what it is they would really squawk over my white gold Rolex Daytona that I also have now. Unless you know you wouldn't know it's an expensive watch.
Remember Mr. Coffee going off on some people, "another new suit this one has, $14 dollars a month, suckers, robots"?
Wonder if Jodi still has real estate holdings?

PRESIDENTIAL predictions...let the prognosticators have their say!
by Terry inmy only prowess in making predictions stems from my 77-years of life in the united statesgrowing up under president truman, eisenhower, kennedy, nixon, .....etc.
etc.i was a widdle kid sitting in front of a tiny black and white tv set when the very first broadcastsof political conventions, deal-making, debates (nixon vs kennedy), assassinations (jfk, rfk, martin luther king, etc.
) i grew up with duck and cover under my elementary schooldesk, the cold war, the iron curtain, the korean war, the vietnam war and i went to federal prisonas a jw conscientious objector while hippies, flower children, political activists protested and universitystudents were fired up on by troops.i grew up reading newspapers (2 of them).

1/25 WT: Oral and Anal sex are a go - if she's ok with it
by neat blue dog inhe will not pressure her to engage in sexual acts that make her feel uncomfortable, that are demeaning, or that bother her conscience..... the bible does not provide details as to what sexual practices between a husband and a wife should be considered clean or unclean.
a christian couple must make decisions that reflect their resolve to honor jehovah, to please each other, and to maintain a clean conscience.
generally speaking, a couple would not discuss with others this intimate aspect of their marriage..

They haven't figured out how to pocket some money from any relief effort they might launch.

Crooklyn is always looking to eliminate liability. No picnic tables at the Kingdub Hall.... liability. Kingdub Halls are not to be used as relief areas... liability. Book study in private homes.... liability. No publisher is a representative of Watch Tower or Watchtower or Jehovah's Witnesses... liability, each publisher is performing their own ministry as they see fit. No food service at conventions... no liabilty, And so on.
Scared of their own shadow.

Would you be able to survive a three day Assembly?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe last assembly i attended was over 10 years ago.
the monotone speakers, boring talks, uncomfortable seats, long prayers and nodding off after the lunch break did me in.
i survived the morning sessions, but the afternoon sessions were brutal.

Can you imagine if they still had the 7 or 8 day marathons now? Went on until 9 at night sometimes. If Knorr was pontificating he knew noting of staying on time and droned on and on.
Some dubs came to my house just as I was heading out and left an invite to the Kissimmee (Orlando) one this weekend. They looked like bums and didn't speak as I got in my SUV. Weird

The August Study Watchtower: what is the big deal?
by ukpimo ini have been following a number of posts discussing the august watchtower study magazine.
i really don't believe this common idea being passed around that it's being timed for the annual meeting.
here's why.. the august watchtower will be available on servers not long before its public release.

Do JWs Get Excited About WT Publications Any More?
by NotFormer inmemory from long ago: my old mate from high school lived next door to a jw and was often "treated" to the latest jw literature.
when the "you can live forever in paradise on earth"* book came out, this neighbour waxed lyrical about how good this book was and how powerful the message was.
he acted really keen about it, like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Have the dubs actually published any new books other than fluff books? The last book releases I see are in 2022.
Do the rank and file really read stuff?
