Avoiding an Elder
by R.F. ini'm almost six months past walking away from the religion, and one of the elders has risen and thrown a monkey wrench into my entire plan.
things have been great actually.
since i've managed to shed myself of congregation responsiblities, the elders have gotten off my back quite a bit.

my parents not only gave out my number........... they sicked the elders on me....... funny how i was there for over a year without them bothering with me...... hell without them even talking much to me at the few meetings i went to.
wait and see how long it is before the elders MYSTERIOUSLY and MIRACULOSLY get your new number.
i wouldnt meet with those *^%%()&_)*_)*_)*^%%$ for all the money in the world. and i would deny EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING.
dont go to those meetings, dont speak with him....... get a rot lol. get signs to put up at your door........ day sleeper do not disturb.
i knew that i wouldnt have any visitors to my apartment so i unhooked the damn door bell.
check it..... my mom called me to tell me they MIGHT be stopping by since my sister had a doctors appointment in the town i lived in.............. so i hear someone knocking and i look out the peep hole to see who it was.
a HAND covered the door but i ASSUMED it was them.......... no it was that stalking elder. wanted to give me a ride to the meetings and all the empty bulls*** so i politely refused..... said i had to get to bed because i had work at 3 am and shut the door.

even after i was df'd i still had the brainwash in my head telling me not to go onto an internet site discussing jw issues.

i would say that being in "good standing" means you put in the required quota of 10 hours a month, and make all 5 of the meetings weekly, are a member of the theocratic ministry school, and give talks(kinda the same thing)
according to those critera...... i would not be in good standing
however........ unless my family spills the beans to my old cong, i am simply INACTIVE.... going on 4 years

Shunning a Jehovah's Witness - They don't like it!

i have been out for nearly 2 years, which makes it even more pathetic on his part.. after leaving, this character (thinking i was depressed), would give me the most tactless, thoughless advice that you have ever heard.
he loved 'giving it to me' right outside my house.

as long as he is a member of a cult which engages in pedophilia and cover ups, along with the blatant absence of love, active destroying of families and disregard for the way that jesus christ lived his life while he was on earth........... you cannot in good conscience speak with him...........
then invite him to church.......

what i find amuseing about the entire situation is........ now when so many are struggleing finacially especially in his own congregation........ he still accepts the rolls.
i had a hard enough time getting around his name....... creflo dollar.............. its to cleche........ ive been to his church.... he preaches a good message but wasnt for me.
he preaches prosperity and a good message but i guess he chooses to show prosperity as well so he keeps the rolls.
i have much more respect for joel olsteen and bob coy who both have nice rich churches (lakewood and calvary chapel fort lauderdale) but they live a more modest lifestyle. joel made 13 million in his book sales alone so he could totally buy his own rolls if he so chose......... and bob finally decided to buy himself a nice convertable..... instead of a lexus he bought a toyota......... shows restraint.
if im gonna give my tithe i want to see what good things the church is doing with it....... not see them driving a benz much less a rolls

Standing outside a pub smoking a cig and along comes an elder...

last tuesday (on a meeting night) an elder all dressed up walks past me on the same side walk.
he glances at me so i gave a nod gester.

How do you do time in the field ministry?
by buffalosrfree ini have a unique way of doing time (prison rares its ugly head as a thought), i sit with my animals and talk to them and once in awhile i mention that i thank god for them.
sit with them 20 minutes a day and in seven days wa la 2hrs and 20 min x 4 weeks + 2 days left over and you have the magical 10 hrs every month.
what a deal huh?
