in canada, it would be illegal for the one that taped the video to show it to the elders as this would be "invasion of privacy".
what i am wondering however is if any legal action can be done against the elders and the wt if they view this video and take it into account in a judicial comity.

It is quite possible that they indeed believe it; after all, think just how many millions (or, better, billions) of religious men and women all around the world believe that they will go to heaven after they die.

And we (as former jws, having suffered discrimination, persecution etc.) are supposed to have a heart for personal human rights. If they want to live in their delusions, let them do so. That is completely different from my requesting them to drop the shun rule.
