Not sure. I've never cooked a turkey, and we don't know enough people to share it with anyway! So far our closest friends are still dubs, so they'll have meeting that night anyway. I was thinking of cooking lots of good food though...maybe having our dub friends over Friday night to share leftovers! Ha. That'll teach 'em.

JW strangers say mean things to you at assemblies?

jw's can be rotten, but what about the "brutally honest" jw strangers at assemblies?

i have had some issues with the general meaness jw's are to people that they do not even know, and are jw's.. example 1: i was maybe 13 years old and i was a fast developer, i had big boobs basically.

well a dress i had was really nice...my parents would not have let me wear something that was not apprepriate for me, but i guess the dress was low (i didn't think so) and when i was in the bathroom at the assembly at the mirror, a woman just came up to me and was like "you are showing all the assets you have to offer" or something to that effect.

These aren't from assemblies, but...

A friend of mine used to drag 6 little kids to the meetings by herself. And this one lady would approach her almost every time and say, "I noticed that you were late again." My friend said that she wished she could have said in reply, "And I see that you're still fat."

One day her kids were outside jumping on the trampoline and her JW neighbors from across the street came over to let her know that her children were involved in "sexual dancing" and needed to be disciplined. She never figured that one out.

There was also this really sweet older lady in my congregation who always wore mismatched scarves, coats, skirts, and shirts with tennis shoes. LOL I loved it. But one of the elder's wives approached her and told her that her mismatched clothing was unbecoming for a Christian especially in the ministry. The poor old lady was so embarrassed and tried to change her clothing style...I just felt so sorry for her.

Stupid places to leave magazines & tracts

what were some of the stupidest places either you or another jw have left tracts or magazines, hoping someone will find it and want a bible study?

I had a friend who tossed a magazine onto the seat of a parked convertible once. LOL

Another time, I was with another friend trying to get to this 2nd story apartment that was on top of a garage...we circled the garage several times and found no way of reaching the top, no doors (besides the garage doors of course), no doorbells, anything. But on the 2nd story balcony we could see their door open and they were probably inside enjoying a nice spring breeze. My friend rolled up the magazines with a rubberband and tossed it right up through their door. LOL Hopefully he didn't break anything!

Both times I was so embarrassed.
