Well if you ask my original bible study conductor, he said to me that animals were never meant to live forever like humans. Therefore if this cancer infested thing they found is to be consider an animal, then he is still right. (add sarcasm at will)

Cancer has been with us for a long time
by Coded Logic ina 2 million year old hominid has been discovered that had cancer in its foot - making it the oldest neoplasia found in the human lineage.
now, as to why cancer predates original sin by nearly 2 million years, i'd love to hear christian apologists try and explain.. http://sajs.co.za/osteogenic-tumour-australopithecus-sediba-earliest-hominin-evidence-neoplastic-disease/patrick-s-randolph-quinney-scott-williams-maryna-steyn-marc-r-meyer-jacqueline-s-smilg-steven-e.

I thought that when scientist say that a certain human ancestor or ape walked upright it meant they did so habitually. Not as an exception to get around a problem.
If just because they have the physical ability to stand in two legs then I have a new respect for my dog.

Finally found a friend I can talk to
by StarTrekAngel inhe is an old friend that used to attend my congo.
he moved away closer to his parents at some point and we lost touch.
for a couple of years i did not hear anything from him.

Having known him and his relationship with his dad for a while, I assume his dad got after him for showing up like that. For not having shown respect for those around him regardless of what he believes. Not that I agree with such stand, just saying that most likely this is where it came from.
No different than what many of us do to stay under the radar. He is a bit more pushy than I am though.

I know... it is always a calculated risk. Never the less, he is pretty far out at the moment and while he is shocked by the ARC for example, he did not know the UK was headed in the same direction. So he is terribly shaken by this but he has not yet heard it all.

He is an old friend that used to attend my congo. He moved away closer to his parents at some point and we lost touch. For a couple of years I did not hear anything from him. Occasional text messages but nothing in detail. I bumped into him in one of the last assemblies I attended willingly (although I was already mentally out). He showed up to the assembly with his parents and a girlfriend but he was wearing a beard. The next day in the same assembly the beard was gone. We exchanged phone numbers.
I texted him after and I felt he may have been avoiding me. Figure he know I saw him with a beard and probably thought I was going to preach to him. I texted him again yesterday and we had a long conversation. Turns out he is just as awaken as I am. He is also as trapped as I am... not being able to freely speak up.
Anyway... I feel is a good relief for both of us to know we are not alone. I also know this community rejoices every time a new "apostate" is discovered.

Has anyone contacted the "Fredom of mind" center?
by StarTrekAngel injust curious to know if anyone has requested assistance from them regarding cult issues and family... if so, would you please share your experience?.
i submitted a case form almost a year ago but received no response.
i understand my case is not considered the most urgent but i figure i would have heard from them by now.. thanks.

Nice I wish I could go. But I was actually referring to the center run by Steven Hassan. They claim to provide assistance for relatives of cult members and health professionals dealing with it.

"Who is Morris III?" Showed up in an FB thread--A surprising answer followed.
by oppostate inor maybe not so surprising after all, you be the judge....

I recall very clearly that in one of his talks he does say "I come from a wealthy family" and that they often question why he spend his time in this church rather that being involved in the family business". Back then when I heard that was the first time I wondered the same thing in this OP

Can We Encourage Governments to Take Action Against Sexual Abusers of Children ?
by smiddy inhow many countries in the world today , are presently , or soon to be , setting up some sort of commission or an inquiry into child sexual abuse by an organization of any sort , religious ,sporting institution cultural .,etc.etc.. australia has , england has , and i believe germany is following suit .. are their anymore ?
that we can add to the list ?.
of course these inquirys take time , years in fact , but that should not deter us from forging ahead with this agenda.. it is the youth of today who get justice and the youth of tomorrow who can be spared this crime .. and the institutions can modify their policies to bring them up into the 21st century to protect their young.. so if the govt.

I believe that along with bringing them to justice and change their policies, there should be some form of restrain in the "Freedom of Religion" excuse. It has become norm to claim freedom of religion at some level of every one of these cases in an effort to obfuscate the truth, deny providing evidence or shield someone from responsibility.

Any Kingdom Halls not displaying the JW.ORG sign?
by FatFreek 2005 ini've only noticed one when we're on hwy 79, north of our camden, ar, usa.
it is the relatively new kh in fordyce, ar, on that main highway.
is this the rule rather than the exception?.
-
StarTrekAngel
I have not seen one yet. Even some of the smallest KH I've seen in South America have the sign outside. I have been wondering if this fancy of displaying the logo has anything to do with a tax and/or financial requirement, given that now the real state status of the org has probably changed.
