Hello noonehome, It's good that you posted here for support. You have gotten some good advise here. Magnum was totally right about your friend. You may need additional support through a school counceller or a therapist. Someone that you can have face to face interaction with. It's tough to go it at such a young age, but you can use that to your advantage. Make changes and live your life as you want. You get only one chance, use the gifts God gave you and enjoy your life to the full. It seems like many of us, lack self confidence. Take one step at a time. Finish schooling. Get a job. Keep in control and move ahead. When you loose control, panic can set it. BREATHE. Make plans, become enpowered by sticking to those plans.

There was a book that helped me: Feel the Fear . . . and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers. It also comes in an autobook.

I didn't really do any of Terry's list except for "they done me wrong" and depression. I went through the grief stages that Skeeter mentions.It's taken me years to get to the rebuilding stage (the most scary, esp when you are unprepared to deal with the world) I attended the memorial this year for family reasons and I was pleasantly amazed at my feelings. I didn't tear up during the songs or look longingly at the friendships or family units like last year. I was actually irriated at the new Bible and was viewing things with a skeptical eye. I was satisfied with the progress that has been made in the past year. When I didn't tear up, I realized that rebuilding is well in progess and apparently the emptyiness I felt last year has been beginning to get filled. Man, it's been a long road. It's journey.

My library goes back to the 1950's any beyond. It’s been in the garage 4 years. I'm saving it for my child. If/when he is interested enough in learning the flip/flop doctrines, he will have proof of what I've been telling him and he will be able to reference changed passages. I do not trust jw.org. The WT has a history of erasing false predictions and dire warnings. TTATT will stand the test of time.

The GB has proven that they are men of dishonestly and the kings of spin. Since they do not admit misdeeds, I hang on to the books. If he doesn’t choose to burn them maybe he can contribute to his college fund by selling them as collectibles on EBay. That would be the best possible use of them and it would give me a measure of satisfaction and closure.

I have considered underlining and marking specific passages of TTATT in the literature for him, but somehow I never have found the time. I can think if 100 better things to do, than that.

Kate, you wrote "There are many threads on this forum highlighting the dangerous doctrines and articles...." Yes, there are threads, but there is nothing like seeing in in black and white, and holding proof in your hand. I guess I'm a little old fashioned.

A sister went to invite my mother to the memorial but got worried when she didnt answer the door so she called me to see if she was ok. She mentioned to me why she went to see her and told me the time. I am not sure she would have called me if my mom answered her door .

there was a sister in my congregation that signed up to aux pioneer one month to put in 60 hours.

we couldn't figure out why she was never at the arrangements, but yet she said she got in her time early in the month.

we found out later that we wrote a letter that took her an hour.

I knew heard of a pioneer that left tracts while on tour in the Vatican in Rome and blitz the vendors ourside. Man, she had balls!
