Gill - you are right I overstepped my bounds. For the record I have never disfellowshipped anyone. I am just a seeker of truth. I have appreciated the debate and candor and good from all the comments. Thanks to all. I do not treat you as if you are disfellowshipped, the power of your ideas is just as important as mine. I will stop posting on the board, as you are right others probably have been DFed for doing so and me doing so without retribution may cause harm to others.

Keep up what all of you are doing. It is wonderful to debate and exchange ideas. We can all learn from one another.

    Zarco,

Please don't stop posting on the board ! We're glad you are here. We want you here. Just look at how much you have contributed to this one thread alone. Please reconsider . . . . .

I should probably wait until I feel less emotional to respond here, but this is very upsetting to me.

What good are we doing by attacking this person personally until he decides to leave? Very few of us left in a day or two and never looked back. He isn't going to get where some of the rest of us are in that short a period of time if we try to speed the process up by attacking him. He is obviously having a difficult time dealing with his feelings on a lot of issues right now. We should treat him the same as anyone else having that sort of difficulty.

I am just a seeker of truth.

If that is the case, then anything that constrains you from this task is secondary. I believe that a man-made rule to not discuss with people who were "disfellowshiped" (a word made up by the WTS, btw) is such a secondary constraint.

The Bible says in Prov 18:17: The first to state his case seems right until another comes forward to question him. The WTS also writes that one should not fear examining one's own religion. Cross-examination is not something you can avoid if you are truly a seeker of truth, whether you post here again or not.

I think your posting has helped show some of the humanity that is struggling inside the elder suits that walk in many congregations. That is something very good to see.

I have never been a JW, but the questions I see asked here, esp on this thread, cannot be answered unless an active elder sees that responding to a heart-felt question trumps the rule created to punish Ray Franz.

Sorry you will close the door.

Zarco, thanks very much for answering all my questions. As you noted, we disagree about the amount of good to be found in the JW religion, but I believe if the gb and more elders were like you, the JW religion would be an entirely different and much kinder place to be.

Please don't give up on us because a few posters take exception with your comments. You could say the sky is blue, and there will be someone who will disagree with you! Having an active, knowledgeable JW elder here provides us with a unique point of view that can do nothing but increase the value of our discussions. Hope to hear more from you very soon.

. . . . and I would like to add Zarco, that the disagreements that occur on this board are typical and do not necessarily reflect feelings for the individual. All of us on this board have differing viewpoints and sometimes have very vigorous disagreements. This does not mean however that we don't appreciate each other. Disagreement is healthy. It gets us thinking.

Zarco please don't pay any attention to anyone who attacks you personally. There is always going to be some knucklehead who tries to make it personal. It has happened to every single one of us on this board.

So, I would like to repeat to you: Please don't stop posting. You are an asset to this forum !

PLEASE ZARCO...listen to the heart that motivated you to post initially... If S4 is correct with the fact that there have been over 5,000 hits to this thread (how does one find that information?) then you, Zarco, have to know that you could be helping many people. How many of those thousands are on the fence about what to do, are in the process of fading without repercussions, or even wonder if they should stay and be a force for good in the organization?

There are SO many of us in a quandary.

Please don't let the "trolls" on the site send you away. True, it may be a difficult concept to swallow, thinking of staying under the radar doing something that others have been df'd for, but there are MANY here that value your insight, motivations, and love for "the friends". Not everyone here is a bitter "apostate" as you, of all people, well know. ...just hurt, confused, disappointed, even tired... I think that many of us can benefit from what you have to say. All genuine and humble thoughts are well appreciated.

I look for your posts...and will continue to do so.

I would add that if you personally don't think it should be a disfellowshipping offence to be discussing matters such as this in a forum such as this, if you personally would not disfellowship a publisher for doing so, then why should you feel bad about it?

I would let zarco be. He's already demonstrated himself the type of man that will make his own decisions. And I also didn't find anything offensive directed toward him , so its liekly not a matter of him being offended.
