We've all gotten far more from Mexican immigrants than most Americans are willing to admit. They are here because we give them jobs. We give them jobs because we have work that need to be done.
Adding or subtracting the word "illegal" does not really change much in that economic equation.
No easy answers, but putting a bullet in our own economy while tacitly approving the racism of "the others" would hardly seem like the best answer.

You know, I hear this frequently enough. But I can remember a time when the majority of fast food jobs, etc. were taken by teens rather than people who are likely to be illegal immigrants.
We give them jobs because they're adults who are willing to work for bare minimum. How is it you're okay with businesses taking advantage of illegal immigrants' vulnerability?

The difference the legal status makes is that businesses aren't as easily able to take advantage of legal citizens who aren't afraid to report their employers to the authorities for mistreating them or underpaying them. I think this is very important.
absolutely right on Daystar! I know personally of one large employer in Farmers Branch that goes to the 7-11's where they hang out and get 30 to 40 men. Work them like slaves for 8 to 10 hours and pay them $30.00 in cash at the end of the day. That is less than $5.15 the disgustingly low minimum federal wage. Do the math.
I say round em up and send em back. And I'm an anarchist as well .LOL the irony is killing me .

Hammy,
That may be true, but their choice in their own country, or countries, is no job. $30.00 a day sure beats zero or $30.00 a week. I'm not saying it is a fair wage, or even close, but from their point of view, it's better that what they were getting.
Another thing is, some say Americans don't want to do those jobs, but Americans used to do those jobs. Carwash and busboys, american born hispanics and blacks. Fast food, teenagers. Gardening, asians.

Before I comment on anything else, could you point me to something, anything, I said that would lead one to conclude that that is my position?
If you drive thru Josey Ln. between valley view and just north of beltline
Oh the memories!! I used to work at RHD alot in the ER when they were short=staffed. If an illegal came in, and wasn't in an emergency situation, they would send them to Parkland!!
My exhusband is an electrician in that area. His company also picks up alot of illegals for digging. They don't get paid much.
I have no idea what the answer is. I'm Mexican American and my heart is pulled in the opposite direction of my mind.
And this issue has brought out racist feelings from a lot of poeple, myself included.
this is not about race at all....anyone of any race is welcome to go through the proper legal channels and become a LEGAL resident !
