Just checking in Gerard and Rowan.

'Rowan' is doing better. She has discovered wide support, including this board. We know now that there is a scientific name for what she is feeling and that treatments are available.

Hope is present and her healing continues, but this time with better tools and education for both of us.

Thank you all guys. I love you all for your generous support, understanding and your time to share it.

You have made a difference. SIncerely,

    Gerard

    PS:

Frodo : [...] I wish none of this had happened.

Gandalf : So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

I am happy to hear that you are doing better Rowan. Again Gerry, it is commendable that you are sticking to your wife and educating yourself about depression, etc. so that you can move on together.

    Peace to both of you,

    Juni

You peeps are the greatest! So glad things are on the mend! It'll get better every day. There'll be occasional setbacks, but life's a roller coaster, eh?

Keep us posted on your progress, Rowan. We love you!

    Hugs,

Just a comment that I think is very important to make

The WTS drums into the heads of JWs that they should never say anything that reflects badly on the organization, This belief can stall any good couseling.

    Be truthful.

If the WTS was so scared of people telling the truth then perhaps they need to stop calling what they teach "the truth"

    Rowan and Gerard.

I was gone for a few days and only today read of your struggle.

I read the whole post and you have received lots of good advice, so I won't go there.

But rest assured that lots of people on this forum and a lot of people in your area, involved in treating you, really do care for you and love you and want the best for you.

There are all of us who care for you and all the folks you meet during your recovery, that want to see you free and happy and are willing to take the time to be honest and helpful as they work with you.

In a way, you are moving out of an unloving dangerous situation " the jw's world " to the real world we were told to avoid. The real world. With no elders or cultish behaviour filled with punitive threats and a constant flow of demeaning treatment.

No wonder we end up feeling useless. That is where they wanted us.

    (((Gerard and 'Rowan'))),

It is wonderful how much you two love each other and appreciate each other. Gerard, as JWs we were taught to believe that such a relationship was impossible with a worldly person. Thank you for proving the leadership to be liars. You cannot imagine how much that does to help 'Rowan' break free from their emotional and mental stranglehold on her.

    Respectfully,
    AuldSoul

Just checking in ... I hope things are still progressing well toward a recovery. For me, being properly diagnosed helped me to stop being so anxious.

    Respectfully,
