    Joseph, it's the SAME vision.

What you refer to as separating the visions actually gives the order of events seen in the SINGLE vision.

Revelation 1:10 is the beginning of John's vision:

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,...

As we read through Revelation, NOT ONCE do we read of John ever coming out of his vision. NOT ONCE!

The terms 'then, after, now, (among other similar terms)' are used to give an order of things as they occur within that SINGLE vision. They DO NOT introduce new visions.

    Please rethink your assumptions. Please!

Joseph, I would hope that you are the only one who can see that, because it just isn't there. How can an angel standing in the son, and the Word sitting on a horse be the same, just because it says "and I saw" in between? The angel in the sun part comes right between two mentions of the Son of God on a horse, which is followed by "and I saw the beast". Are you going to say that the beast is also the same main character as the son and the angel??? Just read the text with no preconceived notions, and it will be plain to see!

    slappy,

This is a lost cause with Joseph. Revelation has to fit into the theolgy he prescribes too. He has learned to blatantly add meaning into texts and divide them up in a strange and twisted way to prove his own views. We know we did similiar things when we were in the WT. So we should have pity on him.

    Joseph,

Just because John states "and I saw" does not mean he is describing two seperate visions. Revelation 19 is one complete vision as written down by the Apostle John. You are trying to pull the words out of their context to make them say something they do not. By stopping and starting in mid vision, you are breaking up the continuous flow of what John is seeing.

The beginning of verse 11 describes our Victorious Lord Jesus on the white horse come to execute judgement upon the nations and kings of the earth for their wickedness. In verses 18 and 19, an Angel, obviously not the same as Christ Jesus, invites those who are godly to come together for the supper of God and to watch the annilation of those who opposed God's kingdom. Verses 19 -21 shows thier total annilation into the lake of fire. Their annilation is what people were invited to witness. So again, this is one continuous vision. It has a beginning, middle and end.

And if you are claiming these events take place over an extended period of time, well that could very well be so but it does not change the fact that John was recording this as one vision. And he clearly shows there are two seperate entities described in it, The victorious Christ on the White Horse and an Angel.

    Can you read? Obviously not.

    Here is the complete vision about Christ on the White Horse;

11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." [ a ] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great."

19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

Are you saying that Jesus was indeed, a human/angel hybred?

    DD,

No! You should go back and read what I said again. As the creator of such all things [human] in the first place in the form of a non-human pre-existing Logos, and as someone that now possesses both the nature of Man and the nature of such Logos, this Christ that now radiates God's glory is empowered to fulfill such a task which is far beyond mans ability to even comprehend.

Heb 1: 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, [hupostasis] sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. [NIV]

And hypostasis is a biblical expression that also applies to human beings but not in the same way I applied it to Christ. Our own hypostasis natures consist of our lives in such faith and is dependent upon this revelation and described like this:

Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence , [hupostasis] stedfast unto the end; [NIV]

But this is too much for Trinitarians and I do not expect many here to understand it. And they would be shocked if they knew how this word was used in other texts. Poof goes trinitarianism.

I am only making this comment as an (internally motivated) human moderator:

If you refer back to page 1, you will find what I stated to be true:

    - this is never a dispute that can be solved with current Scripture and interpretation.

    - I will add that, if you want to create a very long thread on JWD, the Trinity/Arianism is one of many subjects, all well known and already beaten to death here, to choose from.

    Carry on, then.

    BA- Enjoy your discussion/argument/whatever.

PS- "Let God be found true, and every man a liar." - Romans 3:4

Lilly, you're right. There really isn't much else we can do . All we can do is pray that the Spirit will guide him, as you said.

It's hard for me, though, to sit back and let things play out as God wills. Most especially when it comes to those that attack, corrupt, misuse, etc the Word of God.

I'm worried not only for him, but also for those he may inadvertantly lead down a similar path and therefore farther from God.

What's crazy is that not even 2 years ago I could have cared less about any and all of this. Now, I'm like the leper in Luke 17

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks.

Praise God for that slappy, praise God.

All things will work out in the end for the glory and praise of God and his son, our Lord Christ Jesus.

We are not the ones who can open people's hearts and minds to truth, the Spirit goes where it wills. We plant the seeds, the Spirit waters, but ultimately, only God can make it grow.

    Think of debates like this one as being positive, even if the people we are trying to help do not listen;

for one thing, when we defend our faith it sharpens us

secondly, we may have planted a seed that may take root in the future

And lastly, when we speak the truth about God and our Lord Jesus Christ, it is never in vain.

    Ditto for that. I'm out.

I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers, hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints, that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, [sister]. Philemon 4-7

    Acts 2:33
Exalted to the righthand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.

    1. Hebrews 8:1
[ The High Priest of a New Covenant ] The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the righthand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
Hebrews 8:1-3 (in Context) Hebrews 8 (Whole Chapter)
    2. Hebrews 10:12
But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the righthand of God.

    1 Peter 3:22
who has gone into heaven and is at God's righthand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

how many times does the bible put jesus at Gods right hand? well these are just a few and they all keep God and Jesus completely separate so by the arguments that if two are in different position then God and jesus are not the same.
