One thing is clear we are both apposing religions and if in this thread the full laundry list of Jw beliefs are going to come out, I reserve the right to hold a long laundry list against other faiths too. when choosing a religion I look at the whole lot of them. So do you condone burning innocent women as witches? do you condone the genocide of the incas for gold? do you condone the massive death count between the warring religious fractions in Ireland whose religious leaders did nothing to stop them. if time can wipe out all these from religious guilt why are we not doing the same for JWs?

On idolatry someone mentioned it above that is is just a piece of wood thats exactly what the bible holds against it. hosea 4 : 10-12

I already said I don't hold dates against them, it looks like they did get a bit enthusiastic over 1975 and this is similar to a thousand of other religions especially young ones but one picture showed an apology so we either accept that or not.
Reniaa, they actually predicted that Armageddon would come in 1975. Dubs quit their jobs, sold their homes, etc., to pioneer. Everyone in the Org at that time completely and radically changed their lives because we were told that Armageddon was coming in the fall of 1975.
It didn't come. And then they changed the magazines when the bound volumes came out to take out any reference to them saying Armageddon was coming in 1975.
At best, it makes them a false prophet. And trying to change the written record after the fact showed they were being deceitful and were liars. And then they refused to take responsibility for it and blamed the r&f, saying they were just too anxious for the END to come.
At worst, Reniaa, doesn't it bother you that the group that says it is God's oracle, God's channel is making false prophecies and then lying and lying and lying and lying to cover their tracks? Do you really think that God works like that? Who is the God of the WTS anyway, if He tells them that Armageddon is coming in 1975 and then doesn't bring it about? Is He some kind of sadist who likes ruining people's lives?
Think about this Reniaa. Don't just spout some canned response. Think about it. If they are truly being used by God, why don't they say, "Hey, God told us it was coming in 1975. We don't know what went wrong." Why did they backtrack and try to do a big cover up? And don't say that all religions do that because they don't.
Can you concede for a moment that maybe, just maybe, the WTS and the GB lied?

surpisingly not lol I'm very frustrating for them on here because I answer emotionally and won't pick over a thing till it loses all its meaning.
But mainly it's because i'm the last of anyone that can remotely say they are pro-wt, I'm an annoying fly they want to swat I guess, because I really am not that good a debator even if I do enjoy it.

Boy oh boy. this thread has taken on a life of its own. Anyway I would just like to add a few thoughts of my own. I think it is disgusting how the catholic church (a good representative of Babylon the great) for years used Latin in its Liturgy and basically kept the bible for the clergy. I by far prefer the way the GB encourages the followers to use the bible extensively, but oh ya, they then say pretty much the same as the aforementioned catholic church - you can't understand it or get the drift of the major teaching contained in it unless you have us to explain it. In other words, read it, anylize it but only thru our Rose coloured? glasses.
Or what about that horrible babylonish teaching of hellfire. Isn't the gb teaching of millions losing their lives at the time of the flood, for living life as best they could, and billions yet to be slaughtered any day now, because they were either never reached by the preaching of the "good news of destruction" or not responding to the witness at the door that day when the washer was going the baby screaming when the dog had just done a dump on the floor much more palatable and reasonable.

Reniaa, Do not put words in my mouth. Nowhere did I say I oppose religions. if I did please copy and post it here. I never said that so stop misquoting me. And you have not answered my question- on what scriptural basis do you select this laundry list when Jesus gave a simply statement regarding his disciples? You do not look at religions as a whole in your evaluation- if you did you would recognize the WT as a false prophet. I do not condone the above mentioning of burning woman or genocide of the incas- neither do most religions. You have not answered my question and have tried to change the topic to how time wipes out guilt in these things. How does apologizing or being enthusiastic as you call it wipe out the clear Biblical charge of being a false prophet?

A bit enthusiastic? They said that it had to happen that way for jesus to truly be what he said he is- Lord of the sabbath. That is more than a bit enthusiastic. Why does the WT get a free pass here?

Again Reniaa, you have not paid attention to the words and detail of your quoted verses in trying to apply this to the cross.
