DF'ing and DA'ing procedural change in the horizon

Sounds like legalspeak to me. I once belonged to a church. After a few years of not attending or donating anything, they sent me a letter and informed me they were removing my name from their membership list. I didn't care, but there were no ramifications involved really.

I guess the watchtower could do the same, but the effects would be quite a bit more disturbing. I never put anything past the watchtower, but I won't worry until I know it is true.

I'll say it again, IF this is true, there is NOTHING to worry about. The tower will fall under its own weight.

We have thousands of "Korah-like" individuals talking online with each other who still have access to active Jehovah's Witnesses.

One of them is called Jeremy C :-)

The WTS is caught between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.

The congregations are filled with the weak and inactive. It may be that the GB fears that the level of apathy is reaching critical mass. JW culture is changing and it is becoming socially acceptable to ignore the shrill and strident calls for conformity and obedience. The Org may be willing to do a bit of pruning to preserve the hard-core elements from the erosive effects of the inactive and the faders. Following the debacle of 1975, the WTS lost many adherents, but these were soon replaced by new and significant growth. They may risk such a move (DA-ing faders) with a view to long-term potential for increase.

On the other hand, many less-than-zealous Witnesses remain only to preserve relationships with family and friends, or because they have no support network outside the Organisation. The GB must know this. If the WTS "offs" too many, they will inadvertently create such a support network. Watch the dam burst and the reservoir empty...

    Interesting article Blondie, thanks.

What I found interesting is that the inactive one is never invited to a meal or a social function, it's always go to a meeting or have a bible study.

Demonstrate Interest: A brief telephone call or visit may assure one who has become inactive that we have not forgotten him. What could we say? We may be encouraging by simply letting the person know that we were thinking of him. Keep the conversation positive and upbuilding. (Phil. 4:8) We might mention a point that we enjoyed from a recent meeting. We could also invite him to an upcoming meeting or assembly and offer to save him a seat or provide transportation.

Why does the telephone call or visit always have to be brief? It's like they want JWs to give a token call but not to get too close.

JeremyC, you make excellent points - it is a government.

I would go as far as to say, the Watchtower Organization is a government within governments. They affect every aspect of our lives, 24/7. They control what we read, watch, our thoughts, entertainment.

While a genuine church uses the Bible as its authority and their leadership, the JWs believe only what the Watchtower has to say about the Bible, therefore the Bible, on its own, loses its power without a Bible based Watchtower publication.

"A little leaven ferments the whole lump" is one of Jesus' sayings. This could be applied to the worldwide congregation. Disaffected ones are that leaven, who keep in contact with active JWs.

My wife Mrs. Flipper brought up an interesting point - ( she's never been a witness , but has great psychological insight ) she asked me - " When have the witnesses ever done anything consistently without favoritism ? They will use this alleged " rule " when it suits them , or for general intimidation or for legal purposes . It's not like they would really bother to send the elders out to check on every inactive person. " Those were her comments .

I agree with her. My point is that the WT society will be discriminatory who they go after. Anyone they deem a threat to shaking the apple cart or who is verbally opposing the society would be high on the list. But personally I side with Mary, Snowbird, and On the Way Out- if this "cult " makes my family stop talking to me - believe me , they will wish they never knew a Mr. Flipper ! Guaranteed ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

If this is true, shouldn't it be coming to light in the English speaking congregations by now? The organisation doesn't release this kind of major change just by a CO in a Spanish speaking circuit.

    Something is very fishy here.

Seems several announcements this year have been in other countries and not "world wide." That is the topic of this thread:

Will there be an "inner circle" with the faded weeds kicked out?

Will inner circle meetings replace the BS?

According to what I have been reading there are going to be "pandemic drills" soon where agencies will coordinate with "faith based community" (and others) for distribution, etc.

If congregation has trouble reaching you now, they don't want to be responsible for contacting you during a drill exercise. I wonder if that figures into any of this. (???)

If they do develop an inner circle..very tight group...it will be a natural progression that you will be 'left out' because you are not keeping up.

Makes me think of the Freemasons. They claim to be "not a secret organization, but rather, an organization with secrets". That's how they bill themselves. Seems to be a similar pattern with WT.

    Blondie quoted

3 A sister who had been inactive for more than 20 years was found in the territory. Although she was unwilling to accept a Bible study, the sister who found her called back, leaving the current magazines. After the district convention, the publisher shared some convention highlights with the inactive sister, and eventually she was reactivated.

    Active - inactive - reactivated

What are/were we? Credit Cards? Batteries? This is not the way you talk about humans. We are pawns to the WT. Not Humans.
