    Jeremy sez,

Sooner or later, there is going to be some "instructions" from mother that are going to be hard for many to swallow.

Blue pill or Red pill !

The problem with this is that they no longer have any charismatic leaders at all at Brooklyn. What's more, they have been jealous of such since the 70s, when Knorr and Freddy (especially Freddy) fought to prevent a "governing body," which if you understand the nature of cults, was a death-knell to their future. Without another charismatic leader like Rutherford or Russell, the Borg is doomed to having no one person to look up to. This is what killed them on the Jesus' thing. "Who do we worship?" Jehovah or Jesus (as in the New Testament) ? No one can follow two leaders, so they default to the more snooty "Jehovah" since the time of Rutherford.

The only way they can ever gain membership is to become more attractive. As with Presidential elections, et al, people vote for who looks the best most often, if other qualifications are fairly even. Our household has placed bets on that phenomena since before the time of BUSH. LOL

If you are going to be in the One True Religion, you got to look good, and have a good front man. Until they change their approach of insane jealousy towards anyone who stands out in the organization (I call it theocratic communism), they will not look good no matter what they teach.

We like to think people are more sophisticated than that, but WE AREN'T.

I also agree with Jeremy C and passwordprotected. Sometimes I think those who are still in or have left more recently have a better understanding of how the organization functions.

For the record, this is still an unconfirmed rumor, right?

Lot of speculation here... where's the evidence?

As I stated in my previous posts; whether or not this particular rumor is true or not is really irrelevant. This is because this thread has again brought up the long standing issue about what will be done about faders in the organization. The thought of the GB turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to this problem seems totally unrealistic. As I stated in my previous posts, the GB views itself as a modern day Priesthood always trying to keep Jehovah's temple undefiled from "Korah-like" elements. This organization is more of an Old Testament re-enactment than it is a true Christian congregation. Here is the problem the organization has on it's hands: for the first time in it's history, the organization has a huge number of people in a strange "gray zone" whereby they are exchanging apostate ideas with other faders online, yet still get to attend JW weddings, baby showers, and potlucks. Before the time of the internet, there were basically "black and white zones". The white zone was those in the organization. The black zone was made up of all of those outside the organization. Anyone who became "apostate" was pretty isolated and had little access to organizational information. But today, "apostate" faders (via the internet) have readily access to Watchtower study articles, KMs, news from Bethel, and even private letters leaked from bodies of elders! Look at the CD that Barbara Anderson released. Many faders have access to those damning legal documents and a few of them have the balls to share them with active JW family members. I do not believe for one second that headquarters is not aware of all of this. They may be totally incompetent when it comes to chronology, but when it comes to "snooping", they are every bit as ambitious as the KGB ever was. The question this thread raises is not whether or not the GB will take action against this problem. The only question is what will they do and when. This "gray zone" of people who are in a sort of half apostate / half JW positions is something they are going to need to do something about. They know it, and we know it. The most probable action that they may feel they will have to take is to expand their shunning policies. As I also elaborated upon in my previous posts, no Scriptural precendent is required; much less expected by the rank and file. If a JW parent is willing to allow their son or daughter to die from refusing a blood transfusion; then obeying a new shunning policy is not so big of a leap is it?
