  Well, you have to have the latest WT and Awake! magazines so you can read them to each other for encouragement while Armageddon churns your neighborhood to dust above your Armageddon shelter (I started to list the bible but then realized, silly me, they rely on WT publications, not the bible)

  Brothers will need to keep a necktie and shaving kit in their backpack. When it's all over and they can come climbing out, the brothers will want to be clean-shaven and properly dressed to usher in the New System. Likewise Sisters will need to keep pantyhose and a modest dress ready.

  Again, do Christians feel the need to make elaborate preparations for some possible future catastrophe? No.

  My mom asked "where in print" did it say so. She was told they were following the Katrina article's guidelines as being ready.

  Like John Doe alluded to, being prepared for a real emergency/disaster is smart.

  What I see in your comments mini, is that people read about the "friends" being prepared for a hurricane and read between the lines on their own.

  And can you blame them?

  The Society for years has drummed the doomsday message in their head and then they print an article that says, "hey guys, you know it's always good to be prepared for a disaster. Here's a list of things that would be helpful to you..." and off runs their imagination that the Society is giving them a coded message: "Be ready...it's close...don't be caught unawares".

  I've seen it happen before. It's just the way a cult controlled mind works.

  The Society typically sends signals without outrightly stating something to those with discernment. These discerning ones believe they've got it over their fellow Witnesses. They're the same ones who refuse to acknowledge you because you are purposely inactive and no elders have taken sanctions against you. You see they are more enlightened.

  If the clean up after Armageddon takes about 700 yrs. do you think what they pack will be enough to last that long. Maybe they should pack seeds for growing all the flowers we see in the awakes, or seeds for vegetables. Water, how long will the water be contamainated from all the dead, oh maybe Jah will make it rain for 40 days and nights. How can intelligent people fall for this nonsense??
