Universal Health Care, Pluses and Minuses

Look - as far as CEO pay (at the very, very top) this is reality of the real world. Just like Madonna makes far more than I ever will. Or like Obama (with his book deals present and future just like the Clintons did) will certainly make far more than I ever will. Both people I have little respect for. So be it.

Just like these type of people exist even in Socialist countries - and at the same high percentage over the ordinary worker; in these cases - far higher. So be it...not even communist socialism in the former USSR changed this - it encouraged a greater divide between rich and poor.

The problem with demonising the top achievers (and trying to confiscate their wages) is that you also have to demonise their companies...these are the companies that directly or indirectly provide the private sector employment and individual wealth in the U.S... you could tax every one of these "uber-rich" every penny they make and still not provide the huge amount of revenue the government needs to pay for all this spending.

I think most of the far-left are big weenies...if you want total government control of major industry (rather than private) just because you think the CEO makes too much money, or the stockholders might make that horrible thing called profit -

Then call yourself what you really are in historical political terms - socialists.

Actually in the UK, it's about 22%, and Japan about 17%

Never mind Woods, either have no idea what those on the left advocate, or you are no more interested in truth and reality than your buddy Burn.

You mean like the ones who sold offices and didn't pay their taxes and then have the gall to call their ideological opponents corrupt? Beks, you are blind.

It's very interesting that you guys are so ready to make pronouncements on me, when you have zero grasp of my comment that you are responding to. Doe you are so ignorant.

The true stockholm syndrome is the so called "underclass" being kept in thralldom by the mental chains of dependence on the political class. Bread and circuses will keep the masses quiet.

Corporate interests have this country in a strangle hold. They have bought and payed for most politicians, yet you and your teabag friends are out there screaming to save them. That is the TRUE Stockhom syndrome going on in this country. It was your God Reagan who perfected your brainwashing.

If a conservative or republican said 2 + 2 = 4, you'd argue that they were wrong. the only reason it's 4 is corp. greed. JESUS.

Sober up. America will thank you.

I understand exactly what you were talking about. I've heard you say it a million times, and it still isn't true.

Here is my take...I can afford health care insurance if they would cover me...but they won't. Aetna, Blue Cross Blue shield, plus all the biggies.

Why? Because I am 50 and have high blood pressure.

I was out right turned down by most of them. The others said yea, ok, 10,000 deductible, we won't cover you for anything related to high blood pressure, and your limit is 25,000. and.............your bill will be $1000.oo a month for you and your 52 year old husband.

So what am I suppose to do? They are gambling with me like we were in Las Vegas.

The Pluses of this health care bill? That people like me get covered. I am not looking for a government bailout, I'm just looking to pay a fair amount and be covered with no pre-existing crap, without a too large discount by these greedy bastard insurance companies.

I am willing to pay....but not 1000.00 a month and get covered for nothing!!!!!!! I have not seen a doctor for2 years, my husband 3. We pay our doctors for colds, flu, etc.....I carry heavy duty car insurance incase anyone is hurt, and the best life insurance.

Here is the other sick part of this...if you have any kind of heath insurance....the hospitals give you a discounted rate whether your provider is paying or not. If you have nothing...they charge top dollar and then put people into bankruptcy to collect.

This entire health care program is not about bailing out people but leveling the field so that everyone can get what they need without going bankrupt.

For those of you with great health care.....I am happy for you, but go without it for 30 days and you and your hindend are up for grabs in this industry. You will be almost uninsurable.

That was what I was posting earlier, My son went to the MD today and got a prescription, he paid cash money, full-on amount, NO DISCOUNT for cash,

Neither businesses had to submit any paperwork, wait any amount of time for their money!!!

If you don't have ins, you must pay upfront, there is no billing at all that I have found when it comes to healthcare on a cash basis.
