Well if we have any posters from New Zealand I suppose it could be researched.
I noticed on Freeminds that Barb also mentions Barry attending a university in NZ....
Maybe get hold of her to confirm.
I would be very interested in knowing where Lloyd Barry attended university and what degree he earned.

Of course, that does not surprise me. Why should it considering what I've learned from that same elder concerning the baptismal questions and why it seems like people are dedicating their lives to the the Father, the Son, and the spirit-directed organization. I've learned that many studies spend anywhere from 6 months to 2 years 'studying the Bible' to ensure that they know what is required of them as a witness. I mean, heaven forbid that the study still has any residual 'apostate Christendom' views.
Garyneal says -- Not according to what I witnessed today at the assembly.
Thats prescripted propaganda which your seeing on stage its not a true representation of reality.
What I mentioned previously was that the JWS youngsters are going with societies notion that to get a good job today you have to
get at least HSD and if not a academic education in a college or university or at least some vocational training of some kind.
The WTS publishing corporation survives off of people buying and selling their products which happens to be literature of their
own publishing. They have sustained its self almost solely on those means for decades, higher education by its members like
getting married or having children has been seen as a deterrent to their ministry and preaching their own selective doctrines.
The wanting desire to place people under their control is what they're after, for both personal reasons and financial.

Well, I am glad to hear that but I still find it very sad that they use these people as models for the rest of the people attending the assemblies. I mean, after all, nothing like making my wife feel like she is not doing enough for the organization because she is required to pursue a bachelor's degree in order to teach at any federally licensed school setting (which is what she enjoys). Let her continue to envy her little protoge who only got her 2 year degree in early childhood development so she could pursue her spiritual goals. Never mind the fact that this protoge of my wife's will never be able to do more than be a teacher's assistance at most places (which pays very little to no money). But hey, she's single and still lives at home with her parents. Jehovah will really be able to use her.
I dont know about 'back then', but nowadays some of those in Bethel have degrees (medicine, lawyers etc) because the society uses them in legal cases and for the blood issue etc. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me...tell people not to go to University, then use their expertise when it suits you..
By applying guilt for not pursuing their ministry they can persuade people to pioneer and cull more followers who may again cull even more.
They are essentially looking out for themselves , the doctrines get spun to new and different directions in an effort to keep the believability level up.
They are salesmen trying to sell to the public that if you want to get close to god and get to know him , come to us because he transcends his spirit
through them and only them.
Its a marketing strategy thats worked for the WTS. for over a century no matter who's at the helm and will most likely will continue so.
Its a self asertive power game that does no one but themselves the better.

It's very hypocritical indeed. I don't really know why the society thinks that pursuing a college education will take you away from God. During my college years, I came across a Christian group who I felt drew me closer to God than I had ever been before (and since honestly). Why can't the society try to set up bible study groups on campus or set up their own colleges that teach real skills.
A short answer Garry is they have to conduct and operate themselves off of previously constructed lies.
There many other so called Christian based faith that are opposed to their youth going to gain a higher education. WHY, because going out of bounds of
their manipulative designated thought control is a mortal threat to their power and control. They may even lose a member of the flock.
