IS THE WATCHTOWER A FALSE PROPHET?

so when the watchtower gets it wrong, as in all the many many blunders, did the angels direct the watchtower in the wrong path?

No, the angels do not actively mislead Jehovah's people, but, the Scriptures do speak about God allowing an operation of error to go forth among his people. The reason for that is to allow a test of our love for the truth. You can get some idea how the process works by the way that apostates sieze upon various Watchtower errors as a pretext for their own defection. I gave an example of how God allows error to go unchecked for a period of time in the case of the apostles and their spreading false rumors about when Jesus was going to return.

As another example, Luke 9:45 says that the truth about Jesus' death was concealed from the apostles. Only after Jesus was resurrected did he use God's holy spirit to fully open up their minds to grasp the meaning of the Scriptures that foretold Messiah's death and resurrection. So, the point is, that the Scriptures are written by Jehovah God in such a cryptic manner that unless he opens a person's mind to their meaning that there is absolutely no way that they can be properly understood by ordinary means. There are many other prophecies that speak of God's means of sealing prophecies up until such time as he sees fit to unveil them to those whom he approves.

or do you follow them all blindly, as most have, until corrected?
There is really only two choices. We can either blindly follow, or we can blindly NOT follow. In either case we are blind to the truth until such time as Jehovah fully reveals it to his faithful ones. Jesus said as much when he promised to send a helper who would eventually guide his disciples into all the truth. According to Paul, and numerous OT prophecies, the ultimate revelation of truth does not take place until Christ arrives. Then, as Paul said: "But then I shall know accurately even as I am accurately known." / You Know

    This statement is an exageration.
how was it an exaggeration? how many blunders should i site before they would be considered "many, many"?

They're not many, many. You can count them with the fingers of your hand. In the other hand, how many Bible truths have the Witnesses brought attention to? That's the significant number.

Booby, dubla and tfs have adequately answered your challenge. One does not need to find a direct statement in Watchtower literature that says, "The following material is presented courtesy of divine inspiration." For reasons I've taken pains to explain, they're never going to make such obvious statements. The fact that the Society claims that angels transmit information from God to JW leaders is irrefutable proof that everything they put in Watchtower publications comes under the aegis of statements "from the Watchtower that they attribute to this special form of communication that" they have stated is taking place.

personally, i would consider the watchtowers failed predictions regarding the end to be "many, many".....1881, 1914, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1935, 1945, 1975.....i think youll see there are more than enough right there to count on two hands.....should i get into more predictions, outside of the end times? perhaps youd like me to bring up beth sarim and the numerous "misunderstandings" about the king of the north? shall i go on, or does this now constitute "many, many"??

You hit it right on the money. After reading through this post, YK was accurate in his statements. The WTBTS does not say they have divine inspiration.

shall i go on, or does this now constitute "many, many"??
Well, go on, because it does not. You just repeat dates like a robot. 1881, 1914, 1918, etc... The brothers were not predicting, but trying to understand Bible chronology and prophesy. They were not telling the reader what to believe, but to come to their own conclusions on the scriptures. Now, here you are more than a hundred years (taking into account the 1881 date you through out) making these false accusations about those sincere, faithful brothers that were investigating the scriptures.

it has already been proven, unequivically, on this thread that they do indeed claim to have divine inspiration. perhaps you need to re-read the watchtower quotes without your wt colored glasses this time.

The brothers were not predicting, but trying to understand Bible chronology and prophesy.
trying to understand bible chronology, and preaching your understanding to a whole group of people are two entirely different things yoyo. if they were merely "trying to understand"....then why did the masses of jws drastically change their lives in preparation for armageddon....repeatedly?

i have made no false accusations, these are all printed dates in watchtower material, PREACHED to the jw masses as FACT, not simply possible "understandings". if youd like to start a new thread where we list specific articles, we can do that.

I'm getting into this one a little late but:

YOYO, if the Watchtower isn't divinely inspired, what is it?

If, in fact, they are not directed by God, why should I pay any attention to what they say?

If not directed by God, then they are just a bunch of guys and my opinion (or anybody else's) is just as good.

And if they are not divinely inspired why do they keep telling their followers that disobedience to the WT is disobedience to God?
